My 2 friends and I are experienced Pathfinder players looking to do one of the new APs.
I used to be a PFS venture lieutenant but recently enlisted in the military and moved far away from my gaming group. So we're looking at doing PBP as a way to play together.
We have characters ready to go for Strange Aeons (1st pick as we're also Cthulu fans) and Giant Slayer but not opposed to doing other APs if you'd like. Also willing to run with a 3 person party but not opposed to letting in another player or 2 (or 3, but APs seem to run best at 4 or 5).
If you're interested or have any questions, just let me know. Thanks.

I would be interested in playing Giantslayer if you end up going that direction. I would consider GM'ing, but to be completely frank, my resources (time AND money) are pretty stretched right now.
On the other hand, Congrats on enlisting. I hope you have a long and exciting career.
1)Commands and superiors are temporary. No matter how bad things get, just remember that its not permanent. Do your best and hang in there.
2)Attend every single flipping school and training that you can get your hands on. It doesn't matter if it is related to your job.. take it. Even if you think you will fail, at least you tried. At the end of the ride, you never want to be left saying "Well, maybe I should have.."
3)Take advantage of the civilian schooling options. Get at least you associates while still in, and use every single dollar of the GI bill that they will give you. You earned it, so make it work for you.
Best of luck!

Thanks. I'm planning on trying my hardest to get into airborne school (very long AIT), and I've heard taking the urinalysis course and things like that can help with promotion points so I'll be all about that.. I've already got a bachelor's (Didn't do OCS for reasons) but I'm planning on using the GI Bill for whatever I can when I get out since I was told they won't help me get a second while I'm enlisted, and I can't imagine having the time to go for a master's anytime soon.

Airborne is rough.. a lot rougher than my Air Assault was. Good luck with that! I always wanted my chute to go with my wings, but it never came to be.
Promotion points aside, being able to step up and say that you can help out or take a stretch assignment will quickly make you friends higher up. May not make as many friends laterally, but you have to look out for yourself. As for the schooling, its all about how the paperwork is written up. When I enlisted, my father (a 23 yr vet himself) gave me some of the best advice I have ever heard: There are 4 people that you absolutely want to make damn good friends with. A medic: so you will always have someone to take care of you and keep you up and running without the paperwork and hassle. A cook and you will never eat crappy food as long as there is food around. Supplyman so you will never want for the good gear, and a personnelman so your paperwork will always be in your favor. Worked for me.. hope it works for you!rungok |
Yes, my friend! Thanks for offering. However, I beg you to create a new recruitment thread here on the forums, if you're looking to run a campaign. There are several people dying to play in one, and I'm sure they'd love your offer. :)
Indeed. I'd like to get into playing giantslayer or strange aeons. I am running a Strange Aeons game already though, so I would understand if that's a no go.
