I'd say so.
It's a bit of an edge case, though: concentrating to maintain a spell isn't casting a spell, and the ability doesn't let you cast a spell, but the rules for concentration do say that anything which would break your concentration while casting a spell will break ongoing concentration on maintaining a spell.
On balance, though, yes, you can use the ability to concentrate on a spell. The possible objections aren't strong, IMO.
