Hi,
Could you please add to your list of possible PbP Recruitment improvement the following three options.
When creating the thread in the Recruitment section the Thread Creator (hopefully the GM):
1) has the option of pressing one of three buttons that would define the Ruleset for the game, and add the tag at the beginning of the subject line.
[PFRPG] or [PFS] or [<5 character other>], with the default being [PFRPG]. I have seen some recruitment threads where it is just not clear what ruleset is being used and I have seen others post the same question.
2) has the option of pressing one of two buttons that would define whether it is [OPEN RECRUITMENT] or [CLOSED RECRUITMENT], with default being [OPEN RECRUITMENT].
3) Allow the thread creator after recruitment is over, to "edit" the first post by pressing a button that removes the tag from 2 above and puts something like [RECRUITMENT FINISHED] or something like that to let folks know that the game has been filled.
Thanks for listening,

Clarification: The [<5 character other>] is able to be inputted by the GM, so they could put 1E or 2E or 5E or AMBER or SHDWR or any other system.

I dunno... Paizo has made it pretty clear that new additions to PbP are not on the menu.
So yeah, these are fine ideas, but don't expect anything. They have, for years now, been more focused on infrastructure, and other projects. They do not see the potential for this area of the boards it seems.
I think the last thing we got was the strikethrough, and that was some time ago (over a year I think? I dunno, my mind is clearly going). Still, at some point they will finish their infrastructural and other work and make their way back to us. On that day, I think these are good suggestions to add to what I hope is a long and formal list somewhere.
You might also make the suggestion in the recruitment forum as well. Maybe folks will voluntarily start adding tags to the titles to make it clearer?

Honestly, just the Open or Closer Recruitment part would be fantastic. I know for PFS for instance, they request that a lot of info be put into the title right up front: PFS, PbP, The Scenario number or ID, The Scenario Title, The level range or Sub Tier, and the person running it.
Because there is limited space in that block, sometimes Scenarios with longer titles just can not fit it all, and Closed Recruitment is the least pertinent part, or it just gets cut off.
However, the DM does have good reasons to use a Recruitment thread, even if they do have a full table already; looking for another player later on, perhaps as a replacement for the next part that that will be hosted in the same thread, or someone dipped out early on, so a seat opens up, or the DM is willing to take on one or two more folks, but otherwise has enough players to play.
On one hand, this is pretty easy to do in the very first post, and the common idea is that if a potential player can't be bothered to read the very first post, they probably shouldn't be in that game to begin with. On the other, I've also been on the side where I saw a game that I thought was so amazing I honestly didn't see that one little bit that recruitment had been opened and then closed after enough people where in.
