Will you let us know how you get on, TOZ?

I'll try. The downside of starting a new character is I don't have all that much to play him in. :)

A BBEG with a vendetta and a information network WILL learn about these normal folks who stuck their neck out for our Vigilante. They were able to help with your short term problems, but they don't have the skills nor protective powers of your party to keep them from danger if a BBEG wants to use them against you.
This will happen with literally every other class as well. It's just the nature of being an adventurer. You make enemies. The Vigilante has no real incentive to keep his guise up unless the player wants to.

Did you ever get a chance to play this character TOZ? How did it go?

Thanks for asking! I'm actually playing him tomorrow night.

He started at 2nd level thanks to GM credit, and has played two previous scenarios. So far, he's performed much like a ranger, with some better skills support. The rest of the party barely noticed when he used war paint of the terrible visage to switch identities. The adventures did not lend themselves to the difference being important, but the one was relevant to his backstory as an outcast half-elf, involving diplomatic contact with the Ekujae elves.

Tomorrow night involves some infiltration and undercover work in Cheliax, so I may see more benefits of the dual identity. It will be nice to get him to 3rd and open up some other options to play. I'm also waiting for my friends vigilante to get done with our PbP and be free to team up with mine.
