a campaign with custom races

Advice

Sovereign Court

I've always wanted to use my custom races... but how many DM's actually allow other people's custom races? very, very little.

okay to the reson I'm posting this thread: I want to play a game with my custom race's, or at least one of them. I understand most games would be unbalanced with a race with like 10 spell-like abilities, but I'm not the type of DM/Player to do that. I know how frustrating it is when your players kill all your monsters before they can even begin their master rant!

I would just like some other people's feelings on this.

I know that feeling my friend. I have a few races I've built and I like the race book. Unfortunetly many don't allow it just because there is that group that can't be trusted, and from what I've seen most people are here prefer to stick to the core. I even have a thread on here looking for those who love the more uncommon races and even still some like to mention they prefer to avoid the other races.

I've always thought the custom races shined the best though now when they are making something from another game instead of making the +8 Int abusive monstrocity.

I've made Elites from Halo and Murloc's from WoW and both were a blast to play. I'd love to see a game with more freedom in races and build pop up some time

Recruitment of random people for play by post campaigns is often a huge minefield without getting into people's custom races.

That being said, if you find some decent people and get invited to or run more invitation only games things are a lot more flexible in my experience.
