Question About Community Use Policy and Wayfinder

Community Use

I've had a few articles in Wayfinder in the past and upcoming issues, and I now have a website. I was contemplating putting up some of those articles as blog posts on the site as samples of my work. I know that Wayfinder staff have said in the past that it's fine to put your Wayfinder articles up on a personal website as long as it is after the issue is out and it won't prevent Wayfinder from using them. My question, after reviewing the community use policy, is this:

If something was previously published in Wayfinder and subsequently put up on a personal blog, do you have to register it under the Community Use Registry for that blog post? Or has it already been registered through Wayfinder? (I'd be including a link to the issue in question on the post.)

Hi, Meraki,

Which articles were yours?

Sczarni

I would say yes, it should have its own registry. If nothing else than to cover your own butt if you end up replying to comments or put up additional work not in wayfinder later in the site's life.

My recommendation is to set up your own entry on the Community Use Registry, and be sure to properly set up and cite the Open Game License on your site as well.

Okay, thanks for the information!

Snorter, my articles in Wayfinder #14 were "Maftets of the Desert Sands" and a short story, "Teeth." I also have three upcoming in #15.

One more question, just to verify that I'm understanding this correctly: When I make the Community Use Registry entry, it should be for the site as a whole, not each individual post, correct? That's how most of them seem to be listed on there, but I ask because game design posts aren't the only things that will be on the site (it's not strictly a Pathfinder blog).

Very nice work.

Though I hope you didn't just inadvertently kill off my NPC from WF#6!

Thanks! I hope not. :-) Which one was yours?

Egril Skargillson*, inheritor of 'The Cursed Hoard'.
It's got a good Butterfrog picture, of the 'before' and 'after'.

Better they leave that linnorm's treasure alone.
Just to be safe.

*That spelling may be off, as I'm posting from work (bad Snorter!)

Anyone have an idea?
