I've been posting for over a year and only now found this thread. *bangs head on table* For those that don't know me, my name is John Napier. I've been a role-player since 1986. The first game I learned to play was Classic Traveller. After I enlisted in the Army, I picked up first edition AD&D. I've been playing D&D ever since. Well, not including a ten-year hiatus following the suicide of a family member, but I won't go into that here.
My hobbies are Computer Programming, Electronics, and Watching Anime. Once a year, I volunteer for the local Anime Convention in the RPG department. I have been running the same sandbox game for the past four years. If there's anything else you want to know that isn't too personal, just PM me.

Well, as you can see my name on the post I won't bother repeating it. I've been playing since 1985, starting with 1e and now up to Pathfinder, skipping 4e entirely and ignoring 5e. AD&D, Pathfinder, and DC Heroes are the games I played the most, with a smattering of other things. Also, I can always find string when I need it. It's my one psychic gift.
Welcome to Paizo!

Hi, Robin!
Welcome to the forums. I think you'll find that the great majority of the people here are very friendly and open to your ideas and are very knowledgeable when it comes to answering any questions you may have. There are a few rules that you should read (like no discussions of politics or religion PERIOD. And edition wars are pretty much frowned upon. Those are the biggies, I think.
A good place to get to know someone is a thread called "The Monkey's Treefort" in the Off Topic Discussions forum. It's a very laid back place where people can just hang out and talk about anything (except the things I mentioned above). The Advice column is indispensable, as well.
So come on in. Throw your coat over a chair and start posting stuff!

Hi Robin, welcome to our fun corner of the interwebz. If you have any questions about game rules, drop by Rules Questions, but I’d recommend avoiding any thread there that’s over 50 posts, since there’s a risk it’s a... vibrant discussion, shall we say?

Is there a coupon code for the paizo store this month? I can't find anything since the site change & my cart being partially deleted.
Thank you in advance for your replies.
I think the last coupon code expired March 5th. Right now, they're running a month-long sale on some Adventure Card Game products, but I don't believe there's a discount code.

Logan,
Please post rules questions in the Rules Questions forum, where they can be seen by the appropriate people.

Hi all, where could i see wich parts of the rules are ogl?
Everything.
To expand on that answer, though, Paizo protect as product identity their world, characters, deities, places, and ethnicities (check out the Product Identity statement in any of their books). Everything else is open content, including mechanics (such as feats and spell) that use product identity in their names and text, as long as the product identity bits are either removed or changed to generic versions.

Yes, it's the right thread. We're glad to have you aboard! There is a subforum just for Advice (it's even called that!) so hop on down to that. And if you need a place to just relax and talk about anything EXCEPT politics and religion come to the Off Topic Forum and look for DungeonmasterCal's House of Respite. It's where the cool kids go.

Hello! Welcome and stuff! Feel free to wander around, look at things, and ask questions. You can even touch things...wait..maybe not. That's awkward.
Anyway, you'll find plenty of friendly and helpful people around and the mods are always on hand to help a stranger out. And drop by the FAWtL and DungeonmasterCal's House of Respite threads in the Off-Topic section for just relaxing conversation and goofiness.

Hi I am new to this forum but am quite versed in Golarion lore, and pathfinder is my preferred system to DM in (which I am getting back into recently). I am usually a forum lurker, so may have some problems learning how to post things properly. Before sending this message to this topic (which I did beause it was an established topic) I attempted to make a new thread/topic in the Homebrew section, looking for help with my sandbox setting expansion for the Cordelon area of the River Kingdom (work in progress gazetteer of Northern Cordelon and surrounds LINK HERE ). The topic/thread was not there after I submitted it, so I tried again (my mistake if this is forum protocol breach, as I said I'm a habitual lurker). No luck seeing my topic in the homebrew section second time either. Is there some wait time or number of posts I must make before making my own topics or am I doing something wrong? Thank you for your patience (if Im posting this in the wrong area) and help.

Welcome!
And no worries, it’s just a forum bug they’re working on at the moment. I’d just refresh the page a few times, or make a new thread and make the opening post short to see of that lets you and then within the hour go in and and edit it (there’s an hour window to do this) and paste the actual text in there.

Thank you both! I will be able to make my topic now, just a question of where to put it. I am making an expanded gazetteer for my campaign for a little mentioned part of Golarion's River Kingdom and looking for advice and feedback on some of it. Should this be in the homebrew section or not? As it is far more about background setting than rules I was more looking for advice/inspiration/criticism on that front. :)

Welcome!
We are, for the most part, a friendly lot. Of course some of us are a bit crotchety from time to time, others are over zealous, and others so certain in their understanding of the rules that they couldn't possibly ever be wrong.
All in all, a pretty normal swath of humanity.
Be sure you take a few minutes to read through the Community Guidelines.

Wow y'all are welcoming and fast - I've been here maybe five minutes and it already feels like I could just jump right a dozen different games already. It's a nice feeling.
@CrystalSeas - so the usual collection of RPers then? ;)
Just to not tie up and spam the thread, it's good meeting y'all and I look forward to gaming with y'all.
