Campaign Intro Packets

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I just finished my first campaign. It lasted for a little over a year, but didn't really have an overarching idea or plot. It was really the same group of PCs running around solving random problems.

Now, I have an idea for a great campaign that I am very excited about! It has a plot that should take several months (upwards to a year depending on players) to climax.

My question is, I want to give my players sort of an introduction to the world I am creating, including a basic outline of what they can expect and rules to create their character. And, I'm not sure what else. But I don't know where to start.

Do any of you give your players a campaign packet at the beginning??

If so, can you give me any pointers?

I don't want to give too much away, of course, but I want them to get enough to be excited and to know what their characters should know to start (like maybe a map of the realm?)

Thank you,
Jessica

You could look at the free Player's Guides for the Advenure Paths Paizo puts out. That's basically their whole purpose :3
