Going to be grilling tomorrow. Kinda psyched for that.

So excited I put my clothes on inside out

I just heard that a friend and co-worker of mine is cancer free after being treated all last year. YAYYYY!!!

New keyboard! Now to see if my game system will stay up with the new keyboard. And if it does... how the heck does a keyboard randomly and frequently power down a big desktop? If this doesn't stop the power faults, the only things that haven't been swapped out are memory and OS disk drive. I've put in a new case, mobo, CPU, fans, cooling system, SSD, mouse, and monitor. There's not that much left to swap. :/

At the very least, the constant spooky PG UP/PG DN scrolling will stop. I am fairly sure that the keyboard was throwing extraneous signals, though I initially blamed the mouse scroll wheel. Bad me.

And this is a mechanical, lighted keyboard! YAY! I can work all night without typos!

Life is good.

Yay keyboard!!

The gaming system is up. We have lift-off.

Waiting a few to see if it drops or not.

I rather like the keyboard. Clickety-click.

I should go to bed already. Tomorrow morning visit to the dentist, part II.

A bit later than today, thankfully. Still much earlier than my current schedule recent get up times...

Between work kicking my ass and my big concert this weekend, I haven't had time for much else. Excited about the concert, though. And work isn't bad - just hectic as we try to get through some staffing changes.

Did I mention I am excited about my concert? In addition to a Bach cantata and some nifty contemporary repertoire, we are doing Ralph Vaughan Williams's Five Mystical Songs, in which I am soloist for numbers 1 and 3. And there's a chamber orchestra. And the concert is in the city, not the suburbs. And we are a finalist for the American Prize for non-professional choral groups.

Last night was my only evening home at a reasonable hour this week, so John and I went out to dinner. I had a hankering for Italian food, but our favorite Italian spot was having a Mardi Gras night and was reservation-only (on a Tuesday!) So we decided to try a new place, since this is Long Island and you can't turn around without bumping into an Italian restaurant.

So we are looking at the menu and are really underwhelmed by it. The waiter comes by and John asks, "Do you have any specialties? Anything unique or interesting that I should try?" The waiter looks at him and says apologetically, "Um. Honestly? There is nothing unique or different on that menu." He was absolutely right, but his honesty was refreshing.

We'll be going back to the other place when it's not Mardi Gras.

Aw man,... My aunt accountant is gonna KILL me. Again. :/

One of the benefits of being poor and owning nothing is that your taxes are relatively easy. Still had to cough up 3K to Uncle Saphead. Because, you know, I'm working poor...

Check to see if there any "Power, Sleep, and Wake UP" buttons near the F12 key. There are on my keyboard. Accidentally pressing the Power key on my keyboard will shut down my system.

I guess that some sort of malfunction of such button could possibly cause the shutdowns.

I went to bed later than I planned and of course I woke up earlier than I wanted... Yeah.

Back from the dentist. The second temporary filling replaced with no issues.

Dawn breaks on the Atlantic shore

I'll admit. I am tired.

But, less than an hour left, and then I can sleep

Glorious glorious sleep

Gratz proud-geek-dad moment! :D

WHY is it always easier to DIRTY the place that you live than it is to clean it up?

That's always seemed backwards to me. Just sayin',... ;)

Entropy always wins

But I have my steak marinating and my laundry folded. Now I have to shuffle a few papers and make sure my dishes are all washed..

~both pissed and amused at the same time~ [sarcasm]Well that was fun.[/sarcasm] This will make it the second time that I got rear ended avoiding someone who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Today it was some "person" on a bike stopped in my work's driveway checking his phone. I had my turn signal on, but this pickup truck switched lanes and rear ended me. My bumper is messed up some and the covering for the tail light is broken but the car is driveable and the tail light works and the trunk opens and closes. The amusing thing is that his bumper got messed up enough to where he needs his pickup truck towed. Karma. We are in down town Savannah, GA and even at night stuff happens. We have SCAD and tourists here. Both of them do not think. You have to be careful. I got lucky and did not hit the idiot on the bike or the tree that my car just missed or the wall that my car just missed. My neck hurts some but not as much as the last time. Unfortunately this means that I will have to stay an hour later to make up the time.

Ugh. Much positivity Dragon.

So steak dinner went well. Had a blast with my ladybro. Might actually hit a bar with her on Saturday.

Also going to a birthday party this evening. Should be fun, it's the sister of another of my ladybros, who is also a long-time acquaintance of mine since teenager hood. It'll be a lot of reminiscing at the least.

Awwwww... Not my birthday party then...

Much as I'd like to go to your party, MonkForceOne is in the shop.

Ah yes,... When I lived iin New Orleans, I called them 'TOURONS'

Meaning?
TOURON= A Moron out of his native Habitat

;)

Most of them are obliviots.

Ed Reppert wrote:

This. Yes.

This is also my new favorite word. :)

Thanks!

We have a healthy portion of obliviotic tourons in this neck of the woods as well. I feel your pain.

One thing I never understood was the 'NPC effect'. Someone goes on vacation and suddenly the normal rules of civilized behavior seem not to apply. The residents of your holiday destination are somehow just props, unworthy of respect. The landscape is your trash can, and because it is your sacred vacation time everyone should kow tow to your every whim.

I'm very glad I am no longer in retail around here. It's very annoying.

Now, that was funny. :)

Feeling tired, now. Good night, all.

hi everyone,

got poo-ed at by the baby girl the first time, it looked like a well-aimed paintball bullet had hit my chest - a yellow-brownish paintball bullet :-/ :-)
