So the finger is doing well...ish. Not infected, anyway, though the X-ray still makes the surgeon cringe.
Ahhh, the pin. I remember the pin.
*shudders*
My sympathies.

Obviously to get on the ground floor (so to speak) of the next Venice! Imagine how the property values will inflate when it's all canals and bridges!

why...do you have a hook coming out of your finger? Is that some type of short range weaponry? A kinky prong for intimate games of torture?

Turn into what?
(Sorry, couldn't resist!) ;P
Yeah, I'm tired too.
Yesterday wife was driving daughter to her math tutor session (yes, over the summer. It's that bad) and the @$$hat in the next lane was driving in both lanes. So my wife swerved to side to not get hit, and ran into curb. Hard. bent the STEEL RIM of her tire.
So, repair rim, + new tire,...
Sheesh. It never ends. ;P

OUCH! Yea. That sucks. I hit a pothole and did that to both of my front tires. Replacing the rims was not fun.

Hope your axle wasn't damaged too, Rags. Yikes. At least nobody was hurt.
And no ouchies about fingers. That's the point of pinning it - so it stops flopping around and hurting. It feels much better! Really!

It's a really expensive paperclip dispenser. Hurts like heck when I need a paperclip, too. But my office efficiency is tripled!

Another day with 5 1/2 hours sleep too. I feel great, I woke up on my own, and I even lazed in bed for an extra hour to see if I needed any extra sleep. Nope. It still kind of weirds me out. Has it always been like this? I guess I had no method of measuring it and just assumed I was getting eight in

Knowing all this, why doesn't everyone drive Subarus and other AWD vehicles? I miss my Subaru. [/Rant]The real question is why anybody still lives in Florida.
No income tax?
Besides, you're from NY, it's almost a requirement that you retire down there eventually.

Yes,
The bad news? it bent a STEEL rim!The good news? It is a steel rim, so much cheaper/easier to hammer back into shape.
Didn't even THINK about the axle! <Facepalm> And I'm not mentioning that to the Wizard's wife! Cuz she's a worry-wort, and I am NOT giving her something else to stress over! (Besides, I can't afford a new axle anyway, so moot point!) ;)
I drove her car after replacing the repaired rim/new tire. It seems fine. Didn't notice any alignment trouble. (I stopped the car at a stop light with my hands not holding the wheel. Smooth stop, no twists of the wheel, and it's not a perfectly level road!) :)
Knock on wood!

Never. I would rather work myself into an early grave than retire in a place with temperatures that go above 70 degrees regularly.

Well, a day of strange things. I had a good day up until my daughter called and told me my first wife had suddenly passed away at the age of 42. :/
I don't really feel grief. Our relationship was long ago over. I hadn't talked to her in over a decade, but it's just a weird feeling. I guess one part of getting older is seeing people around you die. part of the cycle.
Anyway, a good reminder that the future is never a guarantee. Go out there and enjoy. Tomorrow might be too late.

Good advice, 'Seize the day' :)

In 'Why do strange things always happen to Monkey' news.....
I am now in the very weird position of having custody of my ex-wife's corpse :/*
*We oversee the hospital morgue.
Although I have this macabre urge to go see her, I think I will spare my brain cells. Probably not anything I'd like to commit to memory.

Sounds like my summer!
This weekend the dance show I had scheduled moved to the other (smaller) theater on campus. YAY! I actually get ONE. WHOLE. WEEKEND. OFF!
Weather permitting (lots of rain lately) there will be swimming, grilling, and family time.
Go Wizard! :)
Enjoy your weekend Rags! They are precious things!
