Also, happy belated first anniversary Treeforters! 11K in a year might not be FaWTL level, but I think it is fairly respectable

Ugh no fun. Positive waves and a quick recovery!

I wave back but you are long gone!

I am getting ready to head back to my hotel to eat and post/prep for table top till I head home tomorrow morning.

lol. Every time I saw a NY plate I wondered if we were crossing paths ;)

Hah! I am from Jersey so those would be the plates. If you see a 2005 Lexus flying past people, that's me ;-)

Yes feel better soon! Not a fun procedure my sister had it done recently.

I only had two wisdom teeth and the ones I did get taken out practically fell out. Big mouth half the wisdom of normal people, it's no wonder I'm an attorney. ...

I need to make a dentist appointment too.

Nothing really intensive now, though I felt a spike of pain in lower left jaw. It waned, appeared again, and waned again.

And there are temporary fillings in upper teeth that should be replaced with something more permanent. Though if the dentist decides that I need root channel it will be terribly crappy, as I don't have money for them. Public insurance that I can get by registering as unemployed covers only some basic dental care...

Yup. I need a dental appointment now that I have insurance again.

It shouldn't be horrible. The reason I still have all my wisdom teeth (at age 35) is that they have plenty of room and are not impacted. However, the two on top are rotting away into crumbs. Sometimes in gross, unsettling ways. The dentist thinks what remains of them should come out fairly easily (as these things go).

Possible grossness:
The one on the right fell to pieces years ago, but the one on the left just started splitting and cracking more recently. It hurts like a b$#@!, but only intermittently. The ruined shards of what remains of my upper right wisdom tooth never hurt me at all, but it really does need to finally come out before it abscesses or something.

Also, I have opted against general anesthesia and will be awake the whole time. Hopefully I don't regret that.

I prefer being awake so I can keep an eye on them.

The worst part about having work done that far back is how bad your jaw can hurt during and afterwards. I ask for a bite block when they're doing root canals on the far back molars. It lets you rest your jaw and keeps you from biting them. I always have this crazy urge to bite down when they are drilling. Dunno why. Probably not advisable.

Same principle as that urge to jump when you're at the edge of a cliff.

Whenever I visit a dentist for a first time, I am asked if I got my wisdom teeth removed. Nope. Haven't got any of them yet.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I have all my wisdom teeth. I lost one tooth, as chronicled in fawtl. That's about it.

Me, too. Got 'em all, though a sleazy dentist did try to get me to let him remove them when I was young.

Well... It's official. I was keeping this quiet for a while, but I can say it.

I got a promotion at my main job.

Also, whoever added subtitles to the episode I'm currently watching has swapped Martian Manhunter's and Green Lantern's names, so that J'onn J'onzz is rendered [John Jones], and John Stewart is [J'onn Stewart]. In addition, any time Kilowog uses his catchphrase and calls someone a "poozer," it's rendered in subtitles as [poser]. Apparently, Kilowog thinks that the Flash isn't punx enough.

Ugg. Sinus headaches suck. Not as much as migraines but they do suck.

I remember 20 years ago, I was about 35. I worked with a young 20 something who was under the waeather. I can still remember the wonder and awe, and even enthusiasm, in his voice when he said, "This must be what a sinus headache feels like!"

Reminds me of my favourite announcer subtitles:

Quote:
"Next up Dick Van D&#% in D!+% knows it's murder.

(rather than 'Diagnosis Murder' & they used the real world for a small Dutch Dam rather than some silly profanity filter.

Ugh. Nothing worse than a long shift that rolls straight into ANOTHER long shift.

Get some rest, Monkey Man.

To make up for it, you might like the Hino-emma boss from Nioh, she's a sexy vampire/bat/spider/harpy lady.

With really f#$&ing annoying paralytic attacks. And a parasol.

Dang, last night I go to sleep thinking "It's so nice to see somebody my age saying so without calling themselves OLD all the time", like a certain wizard who will go unnamed (you know who you are!). I felt all warm and fuzzy.

Then I wake up this morning and the ageist knives are out, flailing and twisting. Bad enough that I can't get jobs I'm perfectly qualified for because companies want to hire young people, but being made to feel I don't belong here ? It's like people feel that having fewer trips around the sun is some sort of personal achievement.

And on the day after my birthday.

Ouch.

It's all fun and games until somebody gets stabbed in the heart.

Yeah, I know, it's all how you take things. You can't be hurt if you don't let people hurt you. Time to shore up the Wall of Don't Give a F+%%.

I'm sorry.

I found two 100 zloty bills when cleaning house!

Spoiler:
They are obsolete Polish People's Republic hundreds... Issued 31 years ago... :(

Eh, don't worry about it. I'm in Honey Badger mode.

Now I'm gonna go do something girly and old - knit, maybe, while watching TV? Not sure what to watch. Guess I'll channel surf until I find one with commercials for Rascals, catheters, and Medicare Supplemental Insurance.

Actually, I'm gonna go pump iron while listening to Dethklok. And you can't stop me!

Huzzah!

Been listening to a few Rob Bailey songs when I'm lifting lately, just the right amount of energy and anger ^w^

One of my best friends loves to knit(and have access to big, sturdy, pointy-stabby objects), and she's younger than me.

Hugs & happy bday for yesterday.

Next month I'm going to a Mortiis concert & an American friend is visiting for a month :D

I love AWOLNATION's "Sail" for workouts, for some reason. It always gets the blood pumping.

I've actually knitted since I was a kid. I lived in a 3-generation household. My grandma loved to teach me crafts, and I loved to learn them. My poor mom can't knit to save her life. And now they've found knitting has similar benefits to meditation, I'm glad to do it.
