I've been building this excellent castle as my base of operations in Minecraft for some time now. I'm nearing completion, and plan on giving a virtual tour when it's done. The structure is actually basically complete save for the tower in the northwest; all that's left is that and fleshing out some of the rooms. I could use some advice here, so I thought I'd finally begin the discussion. The idea here is that the castle has recently been liberated from the demons. The rubble has been cleared and renovations have taken place, but most completed rooms (such as all of the demonic additions in the dungeon) remain in place. It has been my base of operations however, so there are a few new rooms, and some rooms have been repurposed.
This is being built in vanilla Survival Minecraft 1.8.9 on a private server. No requests to join the server, please; it's being hosted in a shoebox computer at a friend's house and can't handle much in the way of traffic.
For reference, the main map is on page 34, Drezen's dungeon map is on page 46.
In area F7 (Secret Vault, page 36), it mentions a tattered red and gold tapestry (this is not the false Sword of Valor located in the north end of the room). Whatever this tapestry is, I'd like to use it throughout the citadel for decoration. So what should it look like? Here is a website for designing banners in Minecraft. I already have the Sword of Valor designed; I just need help with this one.

A youtube walkthrough will eventually be in the works, but I thought I'd share an album of screenshots. Many small details are left to be done, but as you can see the bulk of the work is complete.
The castle features a number of working redstone machines. The portcullises raise and lower, and several of the secret doors are piston-enabled. A storage system runs from the Templar's Court and into the Officer's Court, down into a series of separate chambers.
Iomedae's Chapel has been changed to an enchantment area, and the Defender's Chapel now houses a portal to the Nether. Secret rooms not listed on the map are rampant throughout the citadel, taking advantage of space left unused. For instance, the Seneschal's Tower now has a total of 7 floors instead of the listed 3.
Comments, questions and advice are all welcome as I finish the details on this project.

Sweet, I'll be using that pic of Drezen as soon as we hit book 2.
Cool - though, currently the mountain behind sort of spills into the courtyard. I'm working on cutting it back; I'll post an update picture when I've done testing it.
At every stage of building defenses I've done some sort of testing to make sure someone in Adventure mode (so, unable to just tunnel through) couldn't assail the castle if it was in lockdown.

Okay, so I ran out of sand and had to go find a desert island to despoil. The castle is now completely uncovered; next up is getting the exterior walls completed. After that's done I'll be doing a lot of landscaping so it all looks a bit more natural.
You may notice that the tower has a conical roof instead of being open-roofed. I just wasn't sure how to go about the open roof, so I didn't. >.> I'm fairly happy with what ended up though now that the mountain is gone it definitely needs more work to look like it can actually hold itself up.
EDIT: Forgot the link. D'oh!
