I have delayed posting the recruitment thread because I am waiting to hear from Zoomba, to see if those three scenarios are playable for him.
If I don't hear anything by tonight, I'm going to post the thread and begin recruitment. I intend to back fill (1-2) alternate players, just incase someone is unable to play one of the scenarios do to previous play. I expect responses will be slow until after the holiday.
Invites to this link have been sent out to all three Gm's. I will be sending out the recruitment link sometime tonight.

Zoomba |

Sorry for the delayed response; last couple of days became unexpectedly busy and haven't had much time to check in.
I have various low-level characters about, including a level 2 psychic detective and a level 3 occultist on top of plenty of other new character ideas I could make.
I have however, already played the Scions of the Sky Key trilogy. That said, as it is a good multi-parter to get an ongoing group into the swing of things, if need be I could simply sit out for a while, and potentially join you all on a later journey or if a player needs to drop out.
Per your advice nightfiend, I added my information to the tracker site here

Nightfiend |

Thanks Zoomba, that will help to filter out what you have already participated in. This is why I delayed posting recruitment. I would prefer to line up something that all three Gm's haven't played yet. I will take a look over your played games and submit an alternate scenario. BTW, that tracker was referred to me by Waren. It is a great way to add continuity.
It sounds like Xynen is heavily distracted at the moment. He stated he will be able to post in the next day or so. I have a list of his played scenarios, so this shouldn't slow things down at all. I'll have an alternative scenario shortly and post it here.
I believe Xynen said he has a level (2) character he is interested in playing as well, so I don't think the level (1-3) character level will be a problem. That is assuming you want to advance them vs making a fresh character.
All three GMs have stated they would be willing to make a fresh character. So let me know which is preferable. I am OK with whichever you prefer.

![]() |

Just checking in. The two PFS characters I'll have available at the start are Hangust (who Zoomba may remember from his run of The Segang Expedition) a halfling unchained barb. Not as heavy on the melee as most barbarians but he makes a good damage sponge, level 2.1, and an occultist that will be level 2, focused on melee with some spell damage back up.
As has already been said, I also don't mind rolling up a new character either. I don't really have a preference either way.

Nightfiend |

Ok I have reconsidered the scenario. I would still like to run the upcoming season (7) three part scenario when it releases. But for now I am going to set up the following.
#2-1 Before the Dawn, Part 1: The Bloodcove Disguise.
#2-2 Before the Dawn, Part 2: Rescue at Azlant Ridge.
From what I can tell, all three of you haven’t played through this combo. Using the tracker I am able to pull up all three of you and with the exception of Xynen, i am able to see who has played / GMed which scenarios. When you have the time Xynen, I see you are registered with the tracker, but your scenario allocation needs to be updated. This will help a lot with future scenario selection and continuity. I just recently added myself to the tracker and updated it as well.
So far we have the following possibilities.
Woran Level 2.2 Tengue Alchemist (Grenadier)
Zoomba Level 2.0 Psychic Detective
Zoomba Level 3.0 Occultist
Xynen Level 2.1 Halfling Unchained Barbarian
Xynen Level 2.0 Occultist
Now I need to know which you would prefer. If you would like to continue advancing one of these characters, then I will request in the recruitment thread for characters level 1-2. If you want to start fresh, then I will specifically request in the recruitment thread for freshly made characters. Your feedback on this will be required, before I launch the recruitment thread.
Also, what table size do you feel most comfortable with? 4, 5, or 6 players?
It’s such a small online world. Xynen, you know I was in that Segang Expedition game right? I was playing Tatiana Ungaro…)

Hm. I have been sitting on a ratfolk boon for a while now, which I intend to use to make a cavalier on a riding rat with (little rat knight on a riding rat <3 )
PbP might just be the oppurtunity to get some real good roleplay out of the character.
But my alchemist is also quite awesome...
I'm on the fence about what to play. (luxury problem I know).
I'll go with what the party wants.

Nightfiend |

I assume you are intending to use the feat Undersized Mount from the Advanced Class Guide, seeing that a dire rat and a rat folk are both small sized. You should also consider the Dire Rat's limited 10 strength and encumbrance. If you are able to work past the size and strength challenges, I think the idea sounds uneak.
The alchemist is a less uneak option but, is a hard hitter for the long hall.

![]() |

A riding rat is PFS legal for ratfolk to choose trough the Monster Codex: ratfolk entry
A ratfolk with the animal companion, mount, or similar class feature can select a riding rat as her mount.
Riding Rat Companions
Starting Statistics: Size Medium; Speed 40 ft., climb 20 ft., swim 20 ft.; AC +1 natural armor; Attack bite (1d6); Ability Scores Str 14, Dex 15, Con 17, Int 2, Wis 13, Cha 4; Special Qualities low-light vision, scent.
4th-Level Advancement: AC +2 natural armor; Ability Scores Str +2, Dex +2; Bonus Feat Endurance.
Ratfolk: Only ratfolk characters may take legal choices from this section. Non-ratfolk PCs may not use anything from this section. Everything in this section is legal for play
It never gets bigger then medium. Not the strongest mount out there, but thematically its awesome! And it frees a feat as you dont need to take small frame.

![]() |

Well, I guess if I had to make a choice I would prefer to continue with one of my existing PC's, particularly my barbarian as he's fun to play when in an engaging group.
Though playing with a rat riding rat-folk is tempting. If only I had a Grippli boon somewhere we could make a real strange party!
And Nightfiend let me take this opportunity to apologize once again for always forgetting to add Tatiana's banner bonus to my roll :-)

Interesting, I was wondering if you had a different mountable rat in mind. I have to say, it would be the first rat-folk I have seen in a group.
Sounds like Xynen is opting for the Barbarian, so ill be posting up a recruitment thread for (3) more players and (1) alternate for tier 1-2. I'll link the recruitment thread here for you three to review the candidates. Any input on your part will be taken highly into consideration on final selection.

Nightfiend |

OK here is the recruitment link. Hopefully we get a fair amount of interested candidates who haven't played through these two already.
Link to the Recruitment Thread.
Post here any feedback on the potential candidates. If you feel more comfortable with a PM, that's ok also.

We could poke GMG (magabeus) that GMd for us. I know him in real life, a real good guy. He is very experienced with PbP. Since he got his second son, he rarely gets to play in real life anymore.
Anyway, I do take my ratfolk very seriously. I love rats (I have pet rats, and have had them for years, they are my favorite animals).
I have sat on the boon for a while, but with the monster codex out a while ago, and their options all legal for ratfolk, I just had to go for the cavalier idea.
A little rat knight on a rat mount was just too adorable in my head.
Playing together with a halfling barbarian would be fun.
I'll start working on the Ratfolk Cavalier. The PFS number I reserved for him has one chronicle assigned, so the character will start at 0,1

Nightfiend |

That sounds good Woran, I enjoyed his input in the last game. He seems very knowledgeable. Seeing that I have put out a call for three players, have him submit his choice of character in the recruitment thread and post something here as to which character it is and we will make sure it is included.
It would seem strange to only select (2) characters after advertising that we have three slots open. That's why I want him to post in the recruitment...)
Assuming he hasn't already played (2-1) and (2-2), he can then post input here on the selection of the final 2 candidates.

Zoomba |

Before the Dawn sounds great! And if we have a mix of 1s and 2s I think I'll have Barnaby Rockford, Psychic Detective ship out to Garund then. He's not great in combat yet (as low-level investigators rarely are), but he's a good verbal sparrer and has plenty of skills.
I'll also keep an eye on the recruitment thread. No thoughts yet on players, but if I come up with any feedback I'll be sure to mention it.

Nightfiend |

NP Woran, I am assuming that quite a few people have played through these already. They are a little bit older scenarios which require a little conversion to the current society goals. From what I have read, they look like fun scenarios over all. We will have a (6) player table, one way or another. There are a lot of newer players that haven't had the opportunity to play through these yet. If you have someone in mind, who hasn't had the chance to run through these, they are welcome.

Nightfiend |

First I want to say I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas this year. I am looking forward to braking in 2016 with a solid group.
We currently have (6) recruits on the recruitment tab. For an older scenario, during Christmas, this isn't bad. Take a look at their character concepts, backgrounds, and player experience. Then let me know what you think. As soon as we finish recruitment, I am ready to roll. That being said, the only delay is the holiday season.

Nightfiend |

OK, so fare we have the following options.
1. Ostrogard Thornhill (Siriak) / Male-Halfling / (Unchained) Rogue (1) / Level 1.1
2. Jinhong Yeou, the Crimson Fox (Caro Cogitatus) / Female-Kitsune / Swashbuckler (Whirling Dervish) (1) / Level 1.1
3. Dumm (Sodium Telluride) / Male-Half-Elf / (Unchained) Barbarian (1), Ranger (1) / Level 2.0
4. Jane Doe? (Dhenn) / Female-Elf / Psychic (1) / Level 1.0?
5. Butharn Longaxe (CA Jademan) / Male-Dwarf / Fighter (1) / Level 1.1
6. Otieno (Headfirst) Male-Elf / Druid (1) / Level 1.1
7. Audyn Bancroft (Headfirst) Male-Human / Swashbuckler (Inspired blade) (1) / Level 1.2
8. Brunhilde (Alex Mack) / Female-Human (Ulfen) / Ranger (Trapper) (2) / Level 2.0 ? (No chronicles listed)
9. Kardiv Pern (Dragonflyer1243) / Male-Human / Paladin (2) / Level 2.0
10. Gizog (Andrew L Klein) / Male-Tengu / (unchained) Barbarian (1) / Level 1.2
I'm very curious as to which of these candidates you think will round out the group for the long hall. LoL....

![]() |

I dont have a lot of time to check today as we've got another lengthy family visit planned (dont worry, my favorite cousins will be there and they play D&D so we can have D&D vs Pathfinder wars ;) )
Anyway, Out core party is Barbarian/Rogue/Cavalier. We got a solid melee section this way, but we could really use some casters.
For some reason we are attracting a lot of other melee classes.
The palladin/druid both look OK at first glance. But we are sorely lacking in an option for arcane.

Zoomba |

I can actually vouch for Dhenn (Jane Doe?). He's a player and GM at our local lodge and a frequent GM on these boards (as GM Lari) and a solid role player to boot. While I'm not sure exactly how Jane would come off in play, the player definitely knows what he's doing and if picked, I can vouch would make sure the stat block and gear are fully corrected. (and since she would be an amnesiac psychic, I think the vague backstory is fully intentional).
As for the rest, I agree at least one of the paladin, Druid, or ranger would be useful for divine aspects and healing (even in simple 'can use this wand' terms). Will take a closer look at them again this evening and post more

Nightfiend |

It sounds like Xynen is dealing with a death in the family. So he will delayed for a bit. This shouldn't be a problem on my end.
As fare as (Jane Doe) goes, based on the character complexity, I had no doubt about player experience. I doubt a new player would even try a concept like that. I was just slightly concerned about weapon, armor, gear, etc. Now this may have been by design. The character is a Psychic after all. He may not intend to start with any of the listed stuff for background reasons.
The ranger (Brunhilde) is a solid option, as fare as build. Based on past experience (Butharn) is a reliable player. But as stated, another melee character. Headfirst has opted for the Druid (Otieno) if selected. (note) that I am assuming his intention is to play (Otieno) based on his listed character availability. With my luck, he will pop out a new druid. LoL.

Nightfiend |

OK, since Zoomba is vouching for (Jane Doe), I decided to brush up some on Psychics. As fare as weapons, the Psychic is allowed simple weapons, that’s assuming they decide to carry one. They do not have any armor proficiency, so no armor allocated is correct. As fare as gear goes, she would need to list what she has, if anything.
Unless I’m missing some additional resource, Amnesiac (archetype) may need to be reconsidered. It isn’t listed as an option for Occult Realms, which makes it not legal for society play. If I am missing some additional errata, or resource which makes the archetype PFS legal, I will need that reference. Background isn’t a requirement; it just allows me a little more leeway on NPC interaction and environmental fluff. Because of the player’s experience, I am assuming he has selected this class do to its complexity and challenge. This character could fill an arcane slot.
Archetype: The umbral mesmerist archetype on page 17 is legal for play. Discipline: The mindtech psychic discipline on page 13 is legal for play. Elemental Saturation: The elemental saturations on pages 8-9 are only accessible only through special boons. Esoteric Items: A PC must spend 5 Prestige Points in order to access and purchase any of the esoteric items on pages 6-7; a PC who has either the Friend of the Family or Impressive Influence (Nigel Aldain) boon waives this cost. Phantoms: The greed and pride phantoms on pages 14-15 are legal for play. Psi-Tech: The disease transference, force field, laser blast, mind over augmentation, psychic battery, and radiation resistance psi-tech discoveries on pages 12-13 are legal for play. Spells: The shadow enhancement and greater shadow enhancement spells on page 17 are legal for play. A PC uses his own spell list to determine the level of the replicated spell. If the spell does not appear on his list, use the spell level that appears on the wizard's or psychic's list. Spirits: The legendary spirits on pages 10-11 are legal for play with the following clarifications: A PC can only have the ability to contact one legendary spirit at a time, a PC permanently loses the ability to contact a legendary spirit if he breaks that spirit's oath, and a PC can regain that spirit's favor with an atonement (priced as if restoring a cleric's spellcasting abilities). Umbral Mesmerism: All bold stares, mesmerist tricks, and masterful tricks on page 16 are legal for play except the nightmare bold stare.

Zoomba |

Amnesiac is an archetype straight from Occult Adventures not Realms, and is allowed, so PFS legality should not be an issue. If some more backstory or gear is a question, I'd suggest PMing him.
As for other prospective party members, liking either Otienio (Headfirst's Druid) and Brunhilde as a divine option (and Brunhilde's backstory while brief, is evocative). As for the rest, there's a lot of good builds out there. In the end it frequently does end up always being a crapshoot as to long-term success despite anyone's best care.
Oh, and a belated Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it!

Jane doe? (Dhenn)
Brunhilde (Alex Mack)
Woran
Ontieno (Headfirst)
Kardiv Pern (Dragonfly 1243)
Here is a preliminary lineup
Ontieno (Headfirst) Divine option with (3) votes.
Jane doe? (Dhenn) Arcane option with (2) votes.
Brunhilde (Alex Mack) Balanced character with (2) votes.
If you guys like this lineup let me know.
There has been enough interest that I am considering running a second table. This will allow most the players a chance to play through. I agree with Zoomba, that there has been a lot of good builds submitted. The group dynamic, over the course of multiple scenarios, is unpredictable.
I decided to close the recruitment. We should have more than enough to fill the remaining seats at both table 1 and 2. The above lineup is preliminary. I posted that I intend to delay final selection until after the first of the year. This will give you time to review and finalize your selection.

The recent boons have wording like:
"Somewhere in your family tree, your ancestors' human blood intermingled with that of an X. You may play an X character (Pathfinder RPG Advanced Race Guide X or Pathfinder RPG Bestiary X), beginning at level 1 as normal. Other than access to this additional race, all character creation rules ar ethe same as those outlined in the Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play. This Chronicle sheet must be the first Chronicle sheet for the given character, and you must bring a copy of one of the rulebooks listed above to all sessions in which this character appears as if access to this race selection were granted by the Additional Resources list.
While the tekst states it has to be the first sheet, it was ruled it doesnt have to be the first sheet applied, otherwise a GM credit character could never be used for this, or people getting a boon while they had played their first scenario with a character could not change the race.

Zoomba here!
Been working on typing up Barnaby Rockford's stats. Should be mostly done.
I'll also try to add his backstory to his profile today or tomorrow.

Nightfiend |

Both characters look well put together. Nothing less than I would expect to see from you guys. I think we will have quite a few fun seasons ahead.
I am assuming everyone has looked over the preliminary list and is ok with it. With the exception of Xynen, who stated he personally vouched for all three players. So I am going to assume that these three plus you three will comprise the group. All six party members make up a very experienced group. I am curious to see how much difference this group will be in comparison to the random table B group. Both tables have solid-good characters, so the main difference is going to be experience.
Even though I am sure Xynen is ok with the group, I am going to wait until January 1st to announce the tables. That will give a couple of the players who haven't copleated their characters time to complete them. It will also give Xynen a little more time to get squared away.
