Hunter, Cavalier, or Bolt Ace?

Advice

Which character should I play? Should I make a Hunter that rides an Ankylosaur or a Tiger? Or a Ghost Rider Cavalier that joins the Order of the Shroud? Or should I play a Bolt Ace with a Minotaur Double Crossbow?

Scarab Sages

What seems like the most fun? They are all solid. In terms of power, I would rank them Hunter > Cavalier > Bolt Ace, although Bolt Ace will be just fine in combat. I'd skip the MDC though, and you can multiclass out after 5th level.

With my hunter should I ride a Tiger or an Ankylosaur? And should I use a bow or Nodachi with keen?

Melee hunters that ride their AnC can be very potent. If you go that route, though, make sure you have an Int of 13 to pick up Combat Expertise... it's a prerequisite for Pack Flanking. Why? I have no idea... With Outflank and Pack Flanking you can ride your animal companion and constantly have a +4 flanking bonus to attack. And if you get your companion an Amulet of Mighty Fists with Menacing enhancement on it... that bonus goes up to +6...

Personally, I'd go for tiger, but that's just my personal opinion. I don't like dinosaurs in my fantasy setting... lol

A one level dip to wild child brawler will keep your AnC at full power and let you skip the int prereq for comb exp to get pack flanking.

Do I want some mounted feats? If so, which ones? Here is the thing I like about Ankylosaur's.

1.Enemy's enter abandoned building.
2.Set building on fire!
3.Animal Growth spell or Dire Collar.
4.Hulk Smash Building!
5.Building falls down, Squish!
Lol!

You can use whichever animal companion you prefer, I'm just saying I personally prefer the tiger.

Honestly, I would focus more on Teamwork feats as you will get more mileage out of them... However, Mounted Combat is not a bad option in being able to negate one successful attack per round.
