Horsemaster's Saddle first came on my radar because it seemed weird that Improved Spell Sharing was impossible for the mount to qualify for directly. Horsemaster's Saddle, Ring of Tactical Precision, and Hunters all have abilities that give teamwork feats, which resolves the puzzle nicely.
Now I'm reading it closely, and I'm not sure it works. The Saddle doesn't say that the mount gets to bypass prerequisites:
... In addition, the mount gains the benefits of any teamwork feats possessed by the rider.
Ring of Tactical Precision also does not explicitly grant prerequisite bypass, but the Hunter class ability does. So there's an argument that contrary to popular belief, the Saddle doesn't let you use Improved Spell Sharing, and you literally have to have the Hunter class ability to benefit from that feat.
The argument in favor of the Saddle working for this is that the wording confers "the benefits" of teamwork feats, not the feats themselves. So we don't need to concern ourselves with prerequisites as those lie outside the "Benefits" section of feat descriptions.
If it doesn't work, then there's no way to use companion-oriented teamwork feats outside of the Hunter class ability, which would seem strange. (See also: Share Healing, Pack Flanking.) Furthermore, the item doesn't reference Hunters in the way that other class-specific items tend to do. These points help sustain a RAI argument.
Am I missing anything? Which side do you fall on? I want to use this on a PFS character that I'm about to start playing at level 2, so I'm trying to get a sense of whether or not this is worth building towards.
