The Floating Face - deep within mountain forest, there lies a small lake of clear water. Near the center of this lake, barely protruding from the water's surface, is a large, flat stone surface. Legend says that if one stands upon this rock surface at a certain time, in a certain day, a face will appear and answer questions. Some scholars claim the stone is actually an old and powerful earth elemental, locked into that form centuries ago by some angry god.

Elgin the Reviver is a mad occultist who believes it is his destiny to battle against the unwilling enslavement of the flesh to a golem's form. Elgin was once an adventurer, who later settled down to marry and have children. Many years later, an old necromancer enemy sought revenge. He murdered Elgin's family and several friends, combining their bodies into a trio of flesh golems he then sent against the occultist and his former party members. The battle was fierce, and Elgin was the only survivor, but his mind had snapped.
Now, the lunatic occultist travels the lands, seeking out those who would craft servants from deceased flesh. He prefers to destroy the golems and their creators, preferably by first awakening the golem and turning it against its creator. Some of these awakened golems have escaped destruction, and it is rumored they have joined together to find a new life for themselves, but that they constantly fear the madman catching up to them and finishing what he started.

Also very cool idea!
Granted, I am predisposed to like this because my first-ever D&D PC's name was Elgin. :)
But I like this! Could be the basis for a PC, or a side quest for PC's, Do they help the obvious madman in his not-entirely wrong quest? Or stop him to save others (awakened Flesh golems) who have not willingly done anything wrong themselves?
Catch-22 for the wins! :)

Along the same lines as Elgin......
The Unbound is an order of elementals who believe the enslavement of elemental spirits necessary to golem creation is a violation of the natural order of the universe, as well as an insult to the power of the elemental races. They are led by an powerful earth elemental named Yorgon the Shatterer, who claims to be have been reborn from the spirit of a previously enslaved elemental. Yorgon welcomes all elementals and elemental-kin into his brotherhood, and has even been known to make deals with mortal spellcasters for their aid in battling golem-crafting rivals. The Shatterer has long sought a ritual or other powerful magic that would allow his group to free spirits from the golems to which they have been bound without resorting to the destruction of the body.

The Ivory Hive is a well-known tavern famous for two things: its beehives, and the mead made from the hives’ honey. It was founded, is owned, and has been operated for the last 40 years the half-elf Goelir Goldwater. The building is a simple, one-story construct with a main room, kitchen, office, and several small, private rooms. The walls of the main room have beehives built into them, with clear, magically-strengthened glass on the inside allowing patrons to view the bees at their business. Goelir started out as a simple bee keeper, but began brewing his mead after encouragement from a dwarf friend.

Where crashing waves meet high stone, a once-narrow cliff fissure houses the elven settlement of Seacleft. Discovered centuries ago by an elf sailing vessel, the fissure entrance was originally barely wide enough to fit a small keel boat, with the interior being wider and far deeper than expected. The sailors also discovered several small caves opening to either side, and determined the location might make a suitable home once some work was done. In the years following, the elves (aided by some dwarf allies) expanding and developed the fissure, carving halls and balconies out of the living rock, while using stone mined from their work to construct bridges and walkways.
Today, Seacleft is a small elven community, roughly equal in size to a hamlet. From the sea, the fissure appears much as it always has, but the discerning eye can pick out small observation windows carved here and there along the cliffs to either side. Near several of these windows are larger doors which can be opened to reveal well-maintained ballista. These doors, constructed by dwarven craftsmen, blend seamlessly into the stone of the cliff.
Past the entrance, the walls of the cleft diverge to a point nearly 60 feet across before eventually narrowing again. The sides of the fissure have been carved into wharves and building faces at sea level, while higher elevations have walkways and balconies. The rear of the crevice once narrowed to a rough point, but that area has been cut and shaped over the years much like the walls. Higher up, much of the stone has been left untouched, with only the occasional balcony protruding into the narrowing overhead. Above all this, but still some distance below the clifftop a single stone bridge arches across the distance between two fortified balconies, just high enough to avoid a ship’s mast and sails, but low enough to offer a good defensive location.
The cleft is now large enough to comfortably hold at least one sailing ship, although two can probably be made to fit during an emergency.

Located in a secluded mountain valley, in the heart of a small, shallow lake, Castle Carmoor is the famous home of the Carmarath noble family. The fame of the keep comes from it being carved from a single, massive stone island discovered decades ago by one of the family’s more adventurous and exploration-minded patriarchs. The patriarch wasted no time using his wealth and influence to first lay claim to the valley, then to hire a well-known clan of dwarves to begin cutting and shaping his new home out of the living rock.

The Cloven Tower is home to the eccentric wizard Dathach Spiralstaff. It’s a square tower, some 60 feet tall, made of weathered brown stones. Several years ago, folk nearby awoke one morning to discover the tower had been nearly split in twain, as if some giant axe had been brought down upon it with tremendous force. None but Spiralstaff know how the damage occurred, nor how the tower (to this day) remains upright. Passerby who watch long enough can see the wizard easily walking back and forth between the two halves, as if solid floor still exists in the space between.

Speaking of Dathach Spiralstaff is so named for....The Spiral Staff. He claims to have received this powerful magical item as a gift from a minor deity whom he assisted during childbirth, and that the staff was formed from a piece of the umbilical cord of the goddesses' child.
In appearance the staff is reddish-brown wood, about an 1-1/2 inches in diameter and 7 feet long. It's top 1/3 is twisted in a spiral pattern, with a small blue gem of unknown type embedded in the top end.
The only confirmed powers of the staff itself are that the gem sheds light and can cast forth a ray of light that is harmful to any creature with tentacles.

Pain Bracers are used by the faithful of Zon-Kuthon. These simple iron bracers, typically no more than two or three inches long, contain numerous spikes and blades on the inside. When worn, the flesh of the arm is painfully cut and stabbed (2 permanent points of damage), while the enchantment placed on the bracer grants the wearer a +1 morale bonus on Fortitude Saves
Note to self: this needs some work

Inspired by the secret sanitarium from Zootopia. Not sure if there's anything like this in Golarion yet......
Citadel Bahr – built in the Bandu Hills, in northern Sargava, this partially completed fortress sits on a large outcropping of rock near the center of a great waterfall. A single, smaller tower on the southern shore guards the entrance to a drawbridge intended to provide access to the main keep. On the stone island itself, a single, large tower and a few outbuildings were all that was finished.
Intended to be home to a new order of hellknights, Citadel Bahr was sponsored by then Baron Grallus. That all changed when the Chelish civil war saw House Thrune seize power and Sargava become independent. Resources which had been going towards the construction slowed to a crawl, until only a few dozen workers were left. Soon thereafter, all contact was lost. When some agents of the Sargavan government came to investigate, they found the most of the workers in the camp just south of the construction site, all dead. The drawbridge leading to the tower had been raised, cutting off the great outcrop where the main keep was being built. Since then, all efforts to enter the citadel have been prevented by unseen forces. The Sargavan’s have maintained a watch over the abandoned fortress, but don’t wish to waste any resources on continued attempts to retake it.
The truth of what happened – unknown to anyone, the site chosen had long ago been the site of a serpentfolk outpost. Several members of that ancient race were in magical hibernation deep within the stone. They were woken from their slumber by the delving of the construction workers. Theses serpent folk slaughtered the workers, seized the citadel for themselves, and have been slowly gathering strength, reaching out via magic to others of their kind.

Saw an Earth Porn video about a park in some mountainous area somewhere. Every spring/summer, the snow melt off the mountains turns the park into a lake. They had shots of divers swimming around park benches. It was cool.
Got me thinking - a valley in some mountains somewhere. There's a small lake that grows from snow melt. When that happens, certain higher elevation tunnels are covered with water, allowing some rare subterranean aquatic animals to emerge to the surface. Maybe it coincides with their annual breeding cycle, or something like that.

Gareth - a renowned half-elven artist who works strictly in the medium of plant life, he is especially well-known for his remarkable topiary work. He owns a 7 acre garden which acts as both studio and public park, at the center is his modestly-sized, yet extravagantly designed and decorated tower home. It is surrounded by walls, but generally open to the public (except on those rare days when he works on a new exhibit). He also hires out to wealthy clients, creating unique garden settings for (what some consider to be) exorbitant prices. Once each year, to celebrate the first day of spring, Gareth puts on a show in his garden studio, usually consisting of animated topiary characters telling some fanciful story. There are rumors that he has tamed several Living Topiary, and employs them as guards for his garden and home.

A powerful and wealthy crime lord spent a s$%~ ton of money to try and duplicate the effects of lichdom (i.e. phylactery and eternal corpsitutde), so he could continue to run his criminal empire forever. It did not work....completely.
Instead, he was transformed into a kind of ghost, with the would be phylactery serving as a housing for his spirt. Anyone who comes in contact with this item can be possessed, but only temporarily. So he continues to run his criminal empire, but in a limited fashion. Only one or two of his most trusted lieutenants knows the truth.

Not sure why this popped in my head over the weekend: A somewhat secluded large town or small city. Everyone there is really nice - almost too good to be true. There all just terribly nice to one another (and to any visitors). The secret behind it is a demon-worshipping cult who use a minor artifact to channel all the negative emotions of the other town's folk into themselves, then commit terrible murders/ritual sacrifices of visitors to the town.

Doral's Den, known simply as "The Den" to its regulars, is a tavern that specializes in helping adventurers hire themselves out. The owner, Doral Jinsun, was once an adventurer herself. She grew very wealthy, retired, and opened her establishment. Several years later, she helped a noble acquaintance hire some adventurers, and the idea of taking it further appealed to her. She keeps a wizard friend on hand to help with long-distance communication, and has connections throughout the city at temples, with sages, and any others who could aid a band of would-be heroes.

Khendavys the Soul Painter is an insane artist and devout worshipper of Zon Kuthon. His medium is souls. His brush is magic and pain. Long ago, he learned of an ancient ritual wherein he could, at the moment of death, imprison a soul in an everyday object. In his case, he imprisons the soul of each victim in a canvas, after first torturing them to death, with the soul then forming a twisted and haunting vision of torment. Many of these "paintings" are kept by Khendavys in his Gallery of Tears, but some he gives away or sells. It is even said that one of the Princes of Hell possesses such a painting, commissioned as a form of punishment to a mortal enemy.

I've recently found myself slightly obsessed in thinking how you would go about creating a Pathfinder version of Victor Von Doom. I'm sure he'd be a mythic character, with epic point build stats. He'd have to have some levels in an arcane magic-user class, maybe enough to fulfill requirements to get levels in Technomancer. Maybe he'd have some levels in Rogue, and be half Varisian.

A new Empyreal Lord based on the Marvel Comics version of Khonshu. He was originally part of the Osirion Pantheon, but over time came to align himself with the Empyreal Lords, until he became one of them.
I'd make his portfolio be The Moon, and Travelers. Domains would be something like Darkness, Good, Protection, Travel. At least one subdomain would be Moon. Favored weapon would be either a sickle or unarmed strike. Maybe both.
