the best use is to activate magic devices... it's not so good at binding wounds unless the target is a magical beast type... lol...
Wearing fiddly gloves or having a masterwork item means you have to get it out and use it (usually a full round plus) or wear it all the time. That can get in the way if you have other tools/foci. Action economy is a priority in combat, and not springing AoO...
If you are seriously planning on using magic items a lot just level dip into Arcanist or Sorceror... that way you can save a bunch of skill points and not have to make rolls (unless your ability scores are minimal).

Or if you're looking at divine, there's Cleric, Druid, Oracle, Ranger and many, many more...

Honestly. There are many different kinds of scrolls and such out there and not just wands! Wands are simple to use, just need the right word, which most of the time, you'd know. It is scrolls that can be challenging. I, myself find spells that enhance oneself or improve are more useful. Don't forget riffle scrolls since they are considered higher level spells. Can be useful for spells that relies on minutes and not hours.
So say you have enlarge person on a riffle scroll. It is considered a 3rd caster level scroll due to having the silent metamagic on it. So instead of only lasting a minute, its lasting for 3! Or if you want to see more oomph from your scrolls other than just riffle scrolls, check out scrollmaster wizard, Cyphermage PrC, or Pathfinder Savant PrC. Each one can, in a way, get scrolls at their caster level.

So many more...... I would assume that maybe a hunter would be excellent with magic items for divine casters.....

most people doing this lean towards the tricksy side of things and arcane casters have a clear advantage in that area. First level spells: Shield, Vanish, Grease, Hypnotism, Magic Missile, Sleep, Color Spray, Mage Armor... not to mention other class perks (Dimensional Slide).
The reasons to go divine is; healing, some trick with divine channelling (and at 1-2 level it's not going to be much), feat access, a divine prestige class.
The Occult books open up new possibilities...
