RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

One of the young men that my wife teaches is a regular Pathfinder player. He graduates from high school this month, so she asked me to find an inspiring quote suited for a graduating gamer.

I would appreciate any suggestions that come to mind!

There's a poem by Rudyard Kipling that IIRC is called "If". It goes on for several stanzas the gist of which is that if you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs then you are a man. While it is possible I don't have the name of the poem right Kipling wrote a lot of stuff that could be inspirational. Another poet to check out if you want to search around for stuff is Robert Service.

This should do it.

It's perhaps a touch religious in places, but:

Quote:

When a knight won his spurs, in the stories of old,

He was gentle and brave, he was gallant and bold
With a shield on his arm and a lance in his hand,
For God and for valour he rode through the land.

No charger have I, and no sword by my side,
Yet still to adventure and battle I ride,
Though back into storyland giants have fled,
And the knights are no more and the dragons are dead.

Let faith be my shield and let joy be my steed
'Gainst the dragons of anger, the ogres of greed;
And let me set free with the sword of my youth,
From the castle of darkness, the power of the truth.
