YES!

It's going to be building off of AGE, seems like. No word on a Pathfinder port, but anyone looking for more of an optimistic and idealistic take on fantasy gaming, or anyone that's just a fan of the romantic fantasy genre, might want to keep an eye out for this.

Really excited about this news. :)

now I have to step up the pace and get that "adding Blue Rose to Golarion" thread going

Aaaaah.

I'll have to check this out when I get home tonight. Never played nor seen much of Blue Rose, but I've heard very good things about it.

It's the system that True 20 was derived from. I have Blue Rose, I also have True 20, and prefer it as a simpler d20 system. It, or well, both, had some interesting ideas. People always seemed to want more classes, etc. though...

I was a fan of Blue Rose in its original incarnation way back when. I'm hopeful that this one, since their using AGE, will finally give us the rules for higher-level play that we never got with the DA box sets.

Lvl 20 is not enough for you?

Dragon Age boxed set 3, which would give us 11-20, has been "Coming Soon" for some time, now. Unless I've missed it entirely and their page is grossly out of date.

My hope is that Blue Rose will give the AGE 11-20 rules enough of a workout that both things can come to be - new Blue Rose, new DA. :)

Dragon Age: Set 3 has been released. At least the PDF has.

Well, I stand corrected and will investigate this oversight on my part immediately!

Thank you!

Dark Archive

I'm a huge fan of the AGE system, and I can't wait to see how the stunt gameplay will be integrated with the "romantic narrative" genre of Blue Rose.

It's been released for a while now I think.

I mean GR is getting ready to release a compiled Dragon Age hardcover with all of the rules from all three sets.

Yeah that got pointed out earlier, I stood corrected. :)

Next on our list of romantic fantasy RPG's to be resurrected: Lace & Steel.

Anyone else besides me remember that one fondly?

That was the one with the centaurs and the tarot deck in character creation. Very nice art, too.

RPGPundit is already frothing at the mouth from the news.

Jem, I remember talking about Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld with you about a million years ago, but I suppose this question should be to Blue for mentioning the art: Are you aware that Donna Barr, who illustrated Lace & Steel, has been drawing comics for years and years? Like, in two different millennia at this point. Here's a link to her blog.

Holy cats! I was not, and now I'm stuck at work so I can't soak this in properly.

BUT I WILL.

NOTHING WILL STOP ME.

Oh wow. My exact train of thought:

"The guy with the horsebutt on that one Lace and Steel cover reminds me of something."

"Why am I thinking of FFA? This is bugging me. Some light-hearted running joke about a slashy centaur comic."

"Why does Donna Barr sound famil-OHMYGOD"

Holy crap it is a small world after all.

Sounds like one of those dime-a-dozen "this is how people should game" guys. Haters gonna hate.

What's funny is, the first time I picked up one of her comics, her art felt really familiar, but it wasn't till I saw some wolves she'd drawn that I realized, "ZOMG, the Vargr from Challenge Magazine!"

I doubt anybody who would play Blue Rose will care :) I liked the original game (and True 20); I'm not all that interested in AGE but it might be nice to see how they adapted the concepts of Blue Rose to that system.

The Exchange

Definitely one that I'm going to buy when it comes out. Loved Blue Rose.

I've been comparing Fantasy AGE to Blue Rose for a week now, looking to see (a) if the AGE system works for the campaign I want to run, and (b) which version works better.

I like the arcana of Blue Rose better than the magic system in Dragon AGE / Fantasy AGE, but that's certainly a matter of taste.
