The mayor of Magnimar owes me a favor.

Advice

Spoiler for RotR ahead.

We took out Iron Briar, a judge and one of Magnimar's elite. He was also the leader or a death cult. When we ran into the mayor afterwards and explained the situation to him he said he owes us a favor for not exposing the corrupt Judge working under his nose and embarrassing him or the city.

Another party member asked for the townhouse that Foxglove used to own. We have a home base in Magnimar now which doesn't seem game breaking.

What's a favor worth?

It can't be something that is too good, but I don't want to waste it either.

A battalion of well trained soliders to be stationed permanitly in sandpoint forever under the protection of magnimar.

He's a corrupt little bastard himself. Hold it over his head and milk it for all that it's worth.

Free use of the town brothel for life.

Take one of his golem bodyguards!

Checking back in! More spoilers for those who haven't played RotR

So far a permanent guard to protect Sandpoint. Fruian, it's nice place but perhaps a bit too optimistic about people for it's own good. That may be a decent idea because my hero managed to start the moves on Shelelu after taking down her nemesis and bragging it up to her. She is just about the only combat worthy NPC in that town I think. Desna forbid we come back there and find it a smoldering ruin.

Buri, I'm nowhere near the face of the party. That would be a game for our Bard to run. Prior to discovering Iron Briar's place in the death cult, we got detained for the dead bodies we left at Foxgloves townhouse. We were told causing trouble would get us a dance at the end of a rope, or imprisonment in the Hell's, the worst prison this side of Varisia. I don't know if I want to press our luck with pissing off the mayor. I have a +5 intimidate and diplomacy. Granted my +11 bluff might help...

Saldiven, Shelelu wouldn't approve! But not a bad idea based on what info I hadn't told you at the time. :D

Ravingdork, if only. I see it now, riding on a golem's shoulders, pumping out arrows. I may need to try to bluff for that one. "We have a lead about your decrepit clock tower. I'll return it without a scratch, I promise." We did find proof something large, possibly an ogre, had been sleeping in the hay at the sawmill, but wasn't there any longer. A golem might help us smash it. I'm sure the golem would be more fun to drink with then our Dwarf barb at any rate.

Thanks all who replied. I'll be sure to check in again in case anybody else has any ideas.

But the mayor of Magnimar is famous for his golems, as he has several, including one clockwork monstrosity. It's in the novels! ;P

Why couldn't he spare even one?

especially to help in the defense of sandpoint and building diplomatic ties.

Sandpoint:

This place is easy pickings for an attack

You can hold on to this favor and gain more magnimar fame so when the favor comes you can ask for more. He isn't going anywhere and plans to use your services in a times of need.
