Policy: Not OK to PvP in NPC Settlements

Players, it's time to publish an official policy on this topic.

It is not ok to engage in PvP in NPC Settlements. That means Kindleburn, Marchmont, Ossian's Crossing, and Rathglen. You can gank away in Rotter's Hole. :)

I'm imposing this limit because the Thornguard AI is not strong enough yet to provide adequate defenses to the NPC Settlements and the new players that are inhabiting them. Until we have added enough tech to make the Thornguard able to intercede swiftly in PvP actions in NPC Settlements, we have to have a policy against it.

If you are in an NPC Settlement and you are attacked, please note the name of the character who attacked you and email customer.support@goblinworks.com with that information.

The only exception to this rule is that it is always OK to attack any character with a red name.

Thanks for everyone's understanding.

I'm not sure if this is the plan, but is there any chance that you could add an NPC into those hexes that regularly shouts in /hex about this ruling? I don't want to see people that don't read the forums caught in any crossfire.

Emails have also been sent out about this.

Perhaps put it on the patcher for a bit - this way everyone should see it when they log into the game.

Is there any character known for ganking in towns that isn't part of an established group? The groups can get word out to their people, probably more effectively than any text on the patcher. It would have to be about 24 or 36 font in strobing letters for me to read anything on the patcher. When I didn't just enter the game thru the .exe.

Maybe a login message if possible? Like "Welcome To Pathfinder Online: Note - It is against policy to attack players while in an NPC settlement/hex. Please don't do it. Reported violations will be looked into and dealt with accordingly."

Now the gankers use Marchmont for AFK rep gain after ganking newbies NEARBY Marchmont instead of inside
