Rick was a tower of quiet strength, the kind that kept him alive for 5 years when he was given a prognosis of two to six months. He was a great gamer, a humanitarian, and on heck of an uncle I'm told by his nieces and nephews. His passing has left a great hole in everyone who knew him.

I'm sorry to hear about this. But he's up there rolling dice with the likes of Gary Gygax and other legends at the big roleplaying table in the sky. He's finished his campaign here on Earth, it was time for him to level up and start a brand new campaign. May his Dorito bag be full and his Mountain Dew never be flat.

Hello Everyone,
Although I am not a gamer myself, some family and I had this discussion board link forwarded to us.
I am one of Ricky's many loving relatives and I just wanted to say how important it is to us to see that he was part of such a supportive community. I can clearly see that many of you knew him very well, and you knew the same Rick that we all did.
My family and I are heartened by your sincere condolences. I know I have come back to them countless times.
Thank you for sharing your memories of this genuine, brave, and extraordinarily kind man.
His Nephew, Scott
