Eldritch Not

Advice

So I have a Fighter 1/Wizard 4 and I want to become an Eldritch Knight. When I was looking over my level progression, I noticed that Eldritch Knight says that I add my EK levels to my Fighter and Wizard levels for the purpose of meeting the prerequisites for feats. Does this mean that once I start taking levels in EK I can once again start getting my bonus Fighter feats, as well as the bonus wizard feats?

No, but it means that should you want to take a feat that requires a certain amount of fighter levels, such as Weapon Specialization, which requires 4 (if I recall correctly) levels of fighter before you can ever take it, then your EK levels count towards that.

So, say you're a Fighter1/Wizard4/EldrichKnight3 - you have 4 effective levels of fighter for the purpose of qualifying for feats that require those four levels, such as Weapon Specialization. It doesn't mean you have four fighter levels worth of special stuff, like bonus feats or whatnot, just that the feats you earn normally you are more eligible for.

That makes sense. Thanks!

No problem. Welcome to the game!

Multiclassing can be a bit rough for someone new to the game. If you're planning out what you want to be, and not yet a fighter/wizard multiclass, may I heartfully recommend you single-class for your first few characters. 1. It's WAY easier, and 2. The game kind of rewards focusing for the most part. It's POSSIBLE to have a great multiclass character, yeah, but it requires a lot more homework and dedication to pull it off.

Enjoy!
