Liberty's Edge

I have no Illusions that I am the most knowledgeable pathfinder GM/Player ever, thus the reason I can ask these fun fun questions.

How would you build the Saurial's from 2nd edition Dungeons and Dragons into Pathfinder (which would be easier if I still had my 2nd edition books) They don't speak the standard manner, using chirps and smells (the glands on these creatures was pretty impressive since they could make pretty much any kind of smell to indicate an emotional descriptor too their chirping which was generally too loud to be heard by humans in the novels)

I haven't taken a stab at it yet the idea just kind of hit me as I was getting ready for bed and thought, well might as well ask. Whats the harm?

Wyvarans, or Lizardfolk, with a few adjustments, should work just fine.

3.0 Saurials were in Dragon Magazine 292. They were later revised for 3.5 in the Web Enhancement for the FR supplement Serpent Kingdoms.
Here's a link.

Remove the racial hit dice, reduce the natural armor and they should work pretty well as a player race for Pathfinder.

Or just use Lizardfolk. You DO want to be able to communicate with the rest of your party, right?

I always had a great fondness for Ssethregore: In the Coils of the Serpent Empire by Paradigm Concepts which I thought captured the feel of the reptilian races best. You get several different races, classes, a rich background history, beliefs and politics. The rules are based on the 3.5 ruleset so would require less conversion compared to 2.0 to make them work for Pathfinder.

I have often hoped it would be rewrittten for Pathfinder someday. ...and if that doesn't happen by my 50th birthday I will do it myself
