Looking like my biggest pet peeve is items whose description suggests that there's only one of them, crafted by a specific person, for a specific purpose, which is of course undermined by the fact that crafting requirements are listed directly after that.

One more thing about formatting. For the business of writing, it's important. Places that accept submissions usually have writer's guidelines that often include such details as a particular font, font size, and type of file to be submitted. If you can't be bothered to follow those guidelines, then I can assure you that the editors can't be bothered to deal with people that won't work with them. Seriously. I've worked on magazines where failure to meet the basic criteria mean that they won't even read your stuff. Deadlines and high volumes of submissions don't allow for exceptions. They just send out the automatic rejection letter and delete the file. I've seen a thirty page typed manuscript go into the recycling bin because no one had the time to sit and type it into a Word file, so why bother with it?

No formatting and referring to rules elements from AD&D that do not exist in Pathfinder VS no formatting and uses quotes and lots of explanations...
I saw mine in The List but haven't had it pop up in the voting queue. I wanna see it just for the peace of mind that the formatting isn't broken. But, I stopped voting for the evening about an hour ago. Need to get these Christmas letters written and in the mail today/in six hours.

This would be a killer item if the abilities hadn't been left vague. It's not like they didn't have room to expand; they've got nearly half the word count left.

Also saw a pretty sweet staff. Really nailed it IMO.

It sounds like a lot of people took the early declaration that staves were Hard Mode as a challenge, and were actually up to said challenge.

I definitely prefer "ambitious and weird but doesn't quite work" to "works perfectly fine, but not that interesting".
Weapons that are really other items that you happen to also be able to use as a weapon.

Because no weapon, armor, or shield should actually be exactly twice it's cost. The cost of the masterwork item should not be halved.
On topic, though, I found a lovely artifact. I think the author put a decent amount of work into it too, sadly.

So far I've had several "damn it, those are both really cool." and several "Gah, I'm not a fan of either of these."
Also, holy crap. Even at your meanest so far, you guys are super polite, and the quality of the items is awesome.

Careful not to be too specific about items.
I've only voted for a dozen of pairs so far, but I already saw 2 singing bows, the most strange chainsaw ever, a millenia old copyright infringement, and a lot of [guysname]'s [something].
But I also found two really, really good items. :D

In a perfect world then the computer would recognize that I'd seen that one four times so it would reduce the wait time, certainly when both are repeats and one is very weak and the other an excitingly top notch one.
