Guys Lucas IS from a much older generation that doesn't hang out online or follow twitter trends. He didn't grow up with computers or cell phone... his preferred entertainment may not include camping out online. In which case it is entirely believable that he may have missed the viral buzz about the new Star Wars trailer. Now it would surprise me if after being asked about it by a reporter he didn't go online to watch it later.

Well said.

I am pretty sure my mom has never watched a movie trailer online, and would be confused on why anyone would bother

I read somewhere that he said something to the effect that he prefers not to watch trailers or early footage because it spoils part of the movie-going experience, or something of that nature. That seems like a perfectly valid reason to not watch the trailer.

Yeah, but I would have thought Lucas would feel some curiosity - at the very least - at what other people are doing with his baby.

As I said earlier, I could see curiosity, but I could also see not wanting to look.

Given that he's said he hasn't, I don't see any reason to call him a liar, with no more to go on than speculation about his curiosity.

I can see him remembering the good old days when his baby was new and everyone loved it, thought it was cute, smart, a bundle of joy, all that.

And then the teenage years come and they're really ugly. That cute baby is unpredictable, hard to control, and really moody. There's this huge falling out between them.

Now his baby is all grown up, engaged to this guy he hardly knows. So, is it any wonder he's worried how it ultimately turned out?

I wouldn't say those teenage years were ugly. They came with a lot of amazing EU moments even if there were rough spots... like Jar-Jar.

And what daddy wouldn't want to see how his babies life turns out?

The teenage years also came with a bunch of daddy forcing a bunch of plastic surgery on his "babies".

Wow, we almost lost Han Solo today. Speedy recovery, Mr. Ford.

I saw that. Crazy.
