Building Kan-Ra from Killer Instinct

Advice

I'm trying to find an interesting way to build Kan-Ra, from the Killer Instinct video game, and would appreciate some advice/brainstorming. [link]

At first, I was thinking of having him be something akin to a human brawler/sorcerer/eldritch knight with the mummified creature template, but the more I think about it the less sensible it seems. There's almost no synergy there, and brawler doesn't even allow the character to meet the proficiency requirements for eldritch knight.

Can you help me find a better way of representing this character in Pathfinder?

I was thinking he needs to be a martial spellcaster, primarily using spells to duplicate many of his game abilities as outlined below:

  • Bestow curse seems like a good fit for his curse ability
  • Dimension door can be reflavored as his sandy teleport
  • Jump, reflavored to include a giant hand launching him in the air
  • Summon monster and summon swarm can conjure up the giant scorpion and flying swarms seen in the game
  • Telekinesis, strangling hair, long arm, and similar spells can be reflavored to be linen wraps manipulating things from afar

What do you guys think? Do you have any more ideas to offer?

The bandages remind me of a white haired witch more than anything else in Pathfinder. Hex magus with the prehensile hair (flavored as bandages) might work as well.

With this kind of thing you have to choose what you think is important for the flavor you are trying to mimic. I'd probably cut out the focus on the unarmed hand-to-hand stuff, as that is really not a unique aspect of this character within his setting (it is a martial art flavored fighting game after all, they are ALL brawlers)

Possibly the new Kineticist class from the playtest?

Personally I'd go with an Alchemist(Preserve Organs -> Mummification) probably with the Vivisectionist archetype. Just enough Alchemist to get the discoveries needed, and they rest I would probably go with a Sorceror for the spells that would match his abilities in-game. I would go with a bloodline grants claws and focus feats on being a melee combatant.

In the guise of just about every tabletop session I'll mention something pretty tangential to the game. I've just been reading a book on the sega/nintendo heyday (Console wars) and the Stamper brothers are being introduced. They created killer instinct from their Rare software company in England. The book tells them as being rather reclusive and just hammering out awesome games with crazy work schedules and just about no time off.

Scarab Sages

Actually, there is an item in Inner Sea Gods, that I think would fit for the linen attacks: The Perfectionist Shavtoosh
It can be worn wrapped around the check to provide IUS, or used as a whip.

Possibly Vivisectionist Alchemist with Feral Mutagen into Hexcrafter Magus with Prehensile Hair and Feral Combat Training to maximize his usage of hair and claws. I think the concept a lot but the actual mechanical side eludes me on how best to make him.
