They said that their system was told *presumably by paizo* that the release date is January 3rd for the class decks.
Any chance can get someone from Paizo to shoot an email to Amazon that it is ok to release their class deck orders?
The guy on the phone was extremely apologetic and even saw that paizo is shipping from their site but there was nothing he could do to release my order.
I've also ordered from Paizo my cleric deck, so at least I will have that in time, but was hoping to get all 3 of my decks before OP launched.
EDIT:
Yes I read the blog about local retailers getting their hands on them next week. Talking about Amazon though, you know they have boxes of these things sitting in a warehouse somewhere.

Actually, this is the problem. They don't.
Amazon schedules bulk pickups from the distribution chain, whereas local retailers get them shipped from the distributors when they become available. This means Amazon, which sets their own schedule on when to send trucks to the distribution centers to pick up their material, is usually going to be delayed in actually getting the product by a few days beyond what even a brick and mortar store...at least for gaming product.
This is why they have such ludicrous release dates, even this close to the actual street date. They don't fix it until they have the product and start shipping.

See these posts from Vic about Amazon release dates.

The rep you spoke to on the phone probably has no actual info about where they get their release dates from. The base set said the same thing (January 2015) but then ultimately changed and is listed as in stock now.
