Start of Early Enrollment has been delayed.

With the auction house not working, will the other changes (fixes to party loot, adjusted spawn rates, etc.) go live this week, or will everything arrive together?

Thanks for the update, glad you're taking the time to get it right for the MVP.

CEO, Goblinworks

There will be an update on Thursday that will have the changes planned for last week. We will be summarizing what our new schedule is ASAP.

Agreed. A solid EE launch is worth waiting for.

Goblin Squad Member

Thanks for the update, Ryan. Please take the time you need.

Goblin Squad Member

I'm sure it will be for the best. Caution in matters like these pays off in the end.

Thanks for the update.

When do EE folks get alpha access?

Goblin Squad Member

Gives me time to make some better heavy armor and play with level 3 cleric spells before the wipe so I am happy enough.

There are plenty of alpha invites about, good chance someone reading this will even offer you one.

Good call

I know there will be disappointment but this is the correct approach. EE without testing AH/Banking/bug fixes for crafting and other stuff would be a disaster.

Thank's Ryan! I was getting worried there for a second.

Relieved by this for sure.

Best news I have heard all week.

Always happy to wait for quality gaming, take your time, get it right.

Goblin Squad Member

What about those of us who were EE that logged in to Alpha on Monday? Will I still be able to get on? I am fine waiting if I have to, since I know that those things need fixing, but just curious.

Goblin Squad Member

makes sense

Goblin Squad Member

Well, if there IS an alpha key available, I know I would sure love one... My wife and I would share it. We're alrewady "buddies", and are mildly disappointed about the delay.

It's all good if stuff gets delayed to make the game better. I would much rather have a good game later, than a bad game now.

I'm a network security and support engineer; I love seeing stuff while it's being built too :)

Goblin Squad Member

Glad to hear you're going to stop and fix it first. I wouldn't have been able to play this week anyway. :P

Do what you must. Even NASA took a couple year delay to ensure that Curiosity would work (There are only efficient launch windows every couple of years. One moth slip maybe, 2 months forces a couple of years).

Moths wear slips?

Talk about softness...

Clearly it was an analogy for all garments made from silk as the silkworm is the larva of the silkmoth.

"Well obviously it's not meant to be taken literally, it refers to any manufacturers of dairy silk products."

Dang ... had a long weekend coming this weekend. Now I have to get a life?

True, there are lots and lots of bad games you can play now so that market is pretty saturated. Best to wait for a good one.

Scarab Sages

Fair enough! I learnt from Diablo 3 launch and still not schedule my vacation.... ;)

I´m waiting on you guys, but no need to hurry. Go steady, go safe. I can wait until April... :D

There is always the potential for a pitfall when announcing a release date. The griping that delays generate are far more easy to bear than those that are generated by releasing a broken product.

Three months from now, no one will remember a delay, they will remember a buggy launch.

Ryan,

You guys are awesome, take your time :)

For all the good reasons everyone above said, and because I'm getting married on October 12th, do I'd selfishly rather start playing on the 20th (after the honeymoon, lol)

Hey :) congratulations:D

And no worries if the game launches before then.
If i´m not mistaken it was announced that a character created in the first two weeks after launch will have the same xp as a character created in the first few seconds.

Sounds like a plan!

Ryan's relieving at least some of the "immediacy" pressure:

Nobody will have access to the game on the first day of Early Enrollment but people with Alpha and Early Enrollment accounts, and the Early Enrollees may not choose to begin using their game time. Accounts don't get XP backdated to the start of Early Enrollment regardless of when they start playing. We're going to have a little "smoothing function" of XP for the start of Early Enrollment so that people don't feel like OMG MUST BE IN SECOND ONE MINUTE ONE HOUR ONE OF DAY ONE OF EARLY ENROLLMENT OR MISS ANY XP FOR ALL TIME, but that smoothing function will end, probably before the Explorer Enrollees join in Month 2.

Neat! And thanks everyone!

She's a good one - she let me spend the equivalent of a tenth of what we're spending on our wedding on a Kickstarter for a Pathfinder MMORPG... and she got me a mini fridge for craft beer to keep in the livng room.

I hit the jackpot, boys and girls :)

Great, maybe my lungs will get better then and authorise me to play for launch !

Congratulations!

Will she be playing, too? Please convince her to try it! Hubby and I have been gaming together for (ouch! I'm old!) 26 years now, and it's great to be able to share our obsession... err... hobby.

Goblin Squad Member

Nihimon - congrats to you, too!

I don't think she plans on it, but maybe she can be convinced :)

She's not much of an electronic gamer, more into board/card games (and played D&D when she was a kid). She did enjpy Journey for the PS3, though, as well as casual games on her phone. The Pathfinder group I'm GMimg invited her (the guys love her), but she didn't want to intrude on "Guys' Night" so she said she'd join if we got a second campaign running.

Maybe I can tell her it's a way we can RPG together without her "intruding" on guys' night.

Then may I suggest, for your pleasure, the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game, which might soon be endorsed by others who are both reading this thread and have spouses :-).

Uhm, yeah :) (notes the Pathfinder Card Game Subscriber tag next to his name above)

The Pathfinder Adventure Card Game is a lot of fun, and I've enjoyed playing it with my wife, who also really, really enjoys it. As with most things along these lines, more people = more fun.

After the last three (horrible, horrible) betas I was in, you all are already a welcome change. Communication?!? From a game company? That's crazy talk!

I think there are a lot of us who are just waiting to have some fun when it's ready to roll. Take your time. Seems there's already a pretty cool gaming community here. (doesn't mean I'm not going to gank you from the bushes)

<--also a jackpot winner. WooHoo!

It's a great game to play at you friendly local game store. Especially when you roleplay the characters.
