Trying to Understand Table Credit

Scarab Sages 1/5

Hi folks,

I'm a new GM and as much as I enjoy playing or hosting scenarios at this point I'm pretty interested in GM stars. I've reported three sessions from two reoccurring events. At this point I have 2 table credits. Here are my questions:

# Do I need to create an event EVERY time I host a session or do I just add more days to that event? (reoccurring)
# I've reported three sessions yet I only have two table credits? Is that correct?
# Is there ANY documentation on the 'event application?' The FAQ is minimal.

Thanks for any advice.

1. No. I create one event per month and report against that during the month. I dont even add more days.

2. You only get credit for tables that you ran. If you report a table that someone else ran, it does not count for your table count. I bet that is the confusion.

3. Dont know what an "event application" is.

You do not have to create an event every time you host a session. I have event codes that have been going since I started GMing (8/31/12). The number of tables credits is determined by the number of scenarios/modules you ran yourself (not other tables reported on your event code). Do you have any specific questions on the Event portion of the site? Please post them so we can get them answered for you. Thanks for stepping behind the screen.

I've been having the same predicament as Android's questions as well. Everytime I do/did an event at my local game store I would 'create new event' each time. So, I don't need to do this? I can just report each session on the same day?

Also, what does 'clone' option mean on the create event board?

For our game day I have used the same event for 4 years. I just add days to it and report the games for that day.

The only time I add a new event is if it is at a different location, events specific for conventions and my own personal home PFS games.

We also have another event at the same location on a different day but someone else reports that so they made their own event.

You need to add the days to the event prior to the game or they won't show up on the events listing if it is a public event.

Clone means it copies all the information but makes it a new event.

I started using different events for each game day, but I kept forgetting the number. I eventually picked an event for each place I run (one with a memorable number) and use that whenever anything is run there.

1) As mentioned, you can do it either way. Many of us just keep using the same event, adding more lines for dates, and updating the sessions total at the bottom. Others create a new event for each game day or other event. For my memory, and ability to bulk print sign-in sheets, I have been using the same, 4 digit, event for several years now.

2) You get a table credit for each PFS scenario you GM yourself. You actually get two table credits for each Pathfinder module, whether standard or Free RPG Day, you run. For the newer modules, and the sanctioned Adventure Paths (APs), you get 2 table credits for each sanctioned section you run.

Sanctioned APs have 6 segments, one per book.
The module, The Dragon's Demand, has three sanctioned segments.
The module, Tears at Bitter Manor, has two sanctioned segments.

When the module Wardens of the Reborn Forge gets sanctioned, it will probably have 2 or more sanctioned sections.
This will also apply to any of the new 64 page modules, when they get sanctioned for PFS.

It's actually better if you not only use one event number (unless you're running a con or something), but to also make sure you report your own scenarios wherever possible.

Doing so means you can keep track of (almost) every table you've ever GM'd for, at least where you've been the event co-ordinator of your own games.

Also, the new Emerald Spire Superdungeon that was recently sanctioned has 16 module segments.

Thanks, everyone, for your input. I just GM'd three sessions at Dragon*Con. I turned in a paper with the player's info. I was told that someone would enter that information into the system. Does that mean I won't get credit whenever they do input the information or should I be doing that myself?

Did you put your info on the paper as well?

Assuming you put your info on the reporting slip, then yes, you'll get credit. If you didn't, neither you nor your players will receive credit for having played the scenario as the table won't be able to be reported.

I did put my info on the paper. :D

You will be the GM who gets the credit. It does not matter who reports the session.
