The Paths We Choose strongly implies that the Worldwound has gone quiet, that the Fifth Crusade is over.
I know that what happened isn't spelled out in the Season 5 ending scenarios nor the Season 6 scenarios.
I'm guessing that the Adventure Path resolved things.
Can somebody possibly give me a spoiler free quick synopsis of what the current state in PFS land is supposed to be?

If it goes by Wrath of the Righteous...** spoiler omitted **
So...yeah, there's that.
I suspect that it doesn't since AP's don't feed back into mainline continuity. I think it's more like a volcano that has had it's eruption and has quieted down...... for now.
We don't want to invalidate all those Worldwound supplement books now, do we?

Neither WOTR or Season 5 PFSOP are 'canon'. Officially, the worldwound is still there, especially if you play any of the scenarios that take place in or around it.
In the story, your character can certainly boast about how they helped defend Golarion from the Worldwound and beat back the encroaching demon horde.

It's complicated.
Basically all published materials are valid and considered canon (with some notable exceptions such as the Campaign Setting book being overwritten by the Inner Sea World Guide). Even when an Adventure Path advances a particular plotline, this doesn't mean that a previous AP or module is no longer valid.

Err, that's not quite right.
While APs are set in a time sequence, an AP only presumes an older AP already occured if the AP explicitly says it did.
For example, Shattered Star presumed that Rise of the Runelords, Curse of the Crimson Throne, and I believe Second Darkness (could easily be wrong on that last one) all happened.
The vast majority of APs have no ties at all to prior APs, and so the prior APs are not taken into account. Same with the setting books.
King Irovetti of Pitax is a great example - in every sourcebook he's a CN L9 bard, but in the Kingmaker AP he's both a worse person (holy hell is he worse) and stronger.
But yeah, every setting book and gazetteer is canon, while AP events are not (except when explicitly said that they are).

Quantum Canon. It both is, and is not Canon, depending on the PCs participation
This is what different dimensions are for. In this reality the PCs stopped the demons and sealed the worldwound, in that one they failed and demons are busily slaughtering their way across Golarion while in the one waaayyyyy over there I got transported to Golarion, became a mythic 20th level character in a variant jade regent ap and took one look at what was happening at the worldwound before travelling to another dimension to get away from what was obviously going to be very, very bad when 4 mythic 20th level PCs who've minmaxed their characters decide to sign on with the bigbad becoming high level demons in addition to their other abilities.

The whole point of not having the adventures be canon is to simplify entry into the world for new players, new GMs, and new authors.
What happened at the Worldwound depends on your version of Golarion, in other words. We just give you the tools you need to determine that is all.
NOTE: The Pathfinder Society organized play campaign is NOT canon for Golarion. It is, like your home game and my home game, canon only for itself. The fact that, unlike my home game and your home game this particular campaign has thousands and thousands of players does kind of muddy the waters... but a campaign's size is irrelevant when it comes to answering the question of what is canon for baseline Golarion.
The answer to that is "What's in the campaign setting line, and what's presented in adventures as historical material, but NOTHING of the current events of any adventures."
Which, of course, lets you play them in any order. And more important to us, means that we don't obsolete the older adventures whenever we publish a new one.
