16K for permanent Bless Weapon?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Or would it be 32 since it is not in a slot? This might seem excessive, but considering how much weapon enhancements can be at a higher level, along with the auto crit confirmation the thought has crossed my mind, and I'm betting a few others. Of course if you were working with a paladin in your party the cost could be cut in half, but....Some sort of extended oil would be an alternative but who wants to spend a round messing with an oil when you have a Balor breathing down your neck?

I did not do the math, but more likely to be 32 however those are just guidelines. Some magic items will be worth more or less than what the formula works out to, so the GM will have to decide how much he thinks it is worth.

Bless Weapon

The spell does:
Bypass as +1 the DR of evil creatures or striking evil incorporeal creatures.
Becomes good-aligned, bypassing the DR of certain creatures.
Auto-confirms criticals vs. evil foes.

The first is covered by needing a +1 weapon to apply this on as an effect.
The other two are harder to evaluate to specific items.

Only if you cannot liken it to another item do you use a formula.

The formula used is:
2000 * CL(1) * SL(1) * MinPerLevel(2) * Slotless(2) = 8000 gp
The paladin's caster level = class level - 3, so CL=1 not 4.

If I was the GM in your game, I would probably just call this a +1 property and have done. It can't be placed on a keen weapon though.

What makes everyone think it's slotless???

It's a weapon enhancer and occupies a slot in a weapon.
So I'd say +4000 is enough.
And good call "Peet" on the not keen combination as the spell indeed specifies that.

In other editions, it's just a +1. It can't combine with anything else that triggers on a crit, sono keen, vorpal, thundering, etc.

It's probably simpler just to get a holy +1 weapon (18,000 gp).
