So the Selen river has barge travel. Can barges travel upstream in this era of 'technology'?
Yes. With how high you can get Str, I wouldn't be surprised to see, say, minotaur crews that could row upstream.
In Medieval Age, when you travelled upstream with a barge, you didn't row. It was easier to use a yoke of oxen to pull the barge upstream ...
it was also common to just sell the barge for firewood and walk back up the river.
