This was an amazing way to wake up this morning -- five Ennie nominations. I'm thrilled. Overwhelmed. Excited. Humble, and just plain happy. Gonna ride this high all day.
We're up against some amazing work, so I really am just happy to have been nominated into their company. I think I'll have that on my headstone:
"That's 5x Ennie Nominated Lou Agresta to You..." :)

First of all, Mr. Pett, YOUR adventure in Heart of the Razor is part of the book nominated for Best Adventure. You've been co-opted. Tricked into joining Team Logue. Mwahahahahahhahaha! We have you. Finally. We have you!
Thank you, all. I'm really amazed and, well, pleased doesn't begin to cover it. To think that I might not just have midwifed Razor Coast and helped make things good for people, etc. etc., but that the book might (maybe? maybe?) go on to actually win an Ennie? That's amazing. That thought floors me. It'd be the highlight of my RPG career.
Much much more importantly, so many, many people donated their hearts, souls, time and energy to bring out those books. Some wrote for free. Others significantly discounted their art and design work. We had professional editors and proofreaders flat out donate their time and work. It was a six month labor of love and devotion to the game and the community.
I feel irresponsible not naming names:
Tim Hitchcock, John Ling, Richard Pett, Owen Stephens, Greg Vaughan, Frank frickin' Mentzer for cryin' out loud, Rone Barton, my cousin Tiara Agresta -- whose book design shines on every page -- as well as fans, friends, authors, and professionals like Adam Daigle, Tom Knauss, Erik Frankhouse, Dave Hall, Jeremy Miller, Ernest Mueller, Jeff Spencer.... it's a huge list.
Not to forget the artists. Talents like Aaron Acevedo, Eric Lofgren, Cynthia Shephard, Hugo Solis -- gods above and below, Hugo created something like 14 images and 2 or 3 maps for FREE. Because Hugo, that's why.
That doesn't even talk about the Frog God team - Rachel Ventura, Bill (of course), Skeeter, Charles Wright...
And so many more.
For Razor Coast or Heart of the Razor to win an Ennie would validate all of their hard work, devotion, and donations to the project. It would validate their faith and their willingness to roll the dice on me. I hope it happens.
So, I'm going to flat out ask, if you like the Razor Coast books, please consider voting for us in the Ennies.
We're nominated for:
Best Adventure (HoTR)
Best Art, Cover
Best Cartography
Best Setting, and
Product of the Year
Whether anyone votes for us, and we win an Ennie or not, I'm really just thrilled and humbled by those nominations. I've been on cloud 9 with a silly smile plastered to my face for two days now.
I guess we kinda already won, didn't we?

Getting these books out in the first place should be considered a win - so yeah, as far as I'm concerned, you did already win - respect, gratitude and the knowledge of how much joy you created. Whether you win the ennies or not, I'm probably not alone in being exceedingly thankful this beast finally saw the light of day...

Huh... Best Cartography... That's cool. It would be cool to win two years in a row. I guess I'm in the list of "And so many more" lol :) Congrats Louis.
You know what, Sean? You're on the list of "what a jerk Lou is for rushing through the list and not calling out the beating heart of the RC's cartography by name..." So sorry man! Your beautiful maps make our book come alive. You fixed I don't know how many iterations of Port Shaw.
You're also on the list of "most patient cartographers dealing with a frazzled overwhelmed Lou in the known universe..."
For real!
Thank you!

Aha!
A good point Lou, plus of course I regard it as more me infiltrating Logue's setting and hijacking it with my damsel captains:)
Ahem, 5 Rob, but 4 of those are joint and its been my pleasure to work with some awesome lovely people on them, not counting the pimpernel Logue of course. And 5, coincidentally, is exactly the number of times I intend to send your character to his maker next week in Levee, which I very much hope to find you've signed up for, and if not, I know which room you stay in and where all the rats are in Aston, the two will inevitably be brought together:)

Being one of the original... patrons (before being a backer became commonplace) of Sinister Adventures timeframe, and having not folded my pledge, I can't praise enough Louis, Nick, Rich, all the awesome guys who contributed to the effort, and the fine people at Frog God games that made this possible.

Please consider voting for Razor Coast. It would mean the world to the team who worked so hard to save the day and make sure Razor Coast saw the light.
Voting is only open for a short time, so if you plan to vote, please do so now.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and support!
Lou

I think Rob would likely be happy with both things happening Rich. He's a funny, strange, weird, unusual, something guy!
And he hasn't got me to ground him this year - it'll be 2011 all over again. Be afraid, very afraid!
And if anyone says they can't remember 2011 being any different. . . EXACTLY!

No matter if you like pirate adventures or not, this particular product deserves a lot of praise. It takes roleplaying in a different direction, uses a style not yet adopted by many others (a pretty novel approach, too) and is really a template for future modules. I can see the style picked up by other authors in the future. it opens up other avenues for adventure than the norm.
Voting for this is helping to push the envelope. Without products that push the boundaries into the unknown, we wouldn't have some of the gems we have today. I would have voted for this even if I wasn't part of the company.
It's innovative.
