Sometimes, there is not enough beer in the world.....
I'm at least proud of myself, however, for refraining from being a smart-ass. Or, at least, limiting my smart-ass-ness to my co-workers.
Woot! Happy Friday!
Maybe? We'll see how the day turns out.
I remember watching him play for the Saints as a youngster. Dude was awesome!
I was flipping through channels last night and caught on this show titled 3AM, some kind of movie channel reality TV show. I'm not sure about the rest of the show, but this particular episode seemed to focus on a few night life scenes in New York City.
All I could think was "What a bunch of sad, lonely, loser freaks."
Coming from me, that's pretty bad. At least the "freak" part. The others terms don't apply to me.
Well, "sad" does. On occasion.
Unfortunately, paizo does not do emojis.
Cuz I would totally put an emoji in response to that.
Another bright, sun-shiny morning in the great state of Texas. I think we added like another 10,000 people yesterday.
I've been reading through part 4 of the Giantslayer AP. Clearly, the writer doesn't know much about brewing beer.
The wife bought tickets for the circus. We'll go Sunday afternoon. I'm not really thrilled by the idea, but I figured "what the hell". Might was well let Katie see circus elephants for the first and last time.
Got a lot of comic books bagged and boarded and put away in my comic cubes yesterday. All my Sandman comics, Lucifer comics, an Orion run done by the great Walt Simonson, Cosmic Odyssey, Crisis on Infinite Earths (with an issue #1 autographed by Marv Wolfman), and Kingdom Come (with all four issues autographed by Mark Waid).
In doing this, I was reminded that I stopped collecting Sandman at issue 51, for some insane reason. So my collection is incomplete. This must be rectified. And it must be rectified by first printings, if possible.
I've been keeping an eye on the next minis set. I probably won't do a case like I did he last set. There are several minis in the new set I like so far, but not all of them.
Ghouls - sorry, I've got plenty already.
City watch types? Again, I've got plenty.
The Frost Giant Ice Mage is sweet, though. So is the Orc riding a dire wolf. Wagon, cart, draft horse, riding dog - aw hells yeah.
Took the kids to see the Ringling Brothers Circus. This has been the boy's third time. He loved it. It was baby girl's first time. She was crazy - clapping, dancing, gibber-jabbering!
Even I enjoyed the hell out of it. There are some pictures and at least one video (which I refer to as Symphony of Physics).

Decided to buy the 15 issues they had that were not already in my possession.

Seriously, shit like that makes even less sense around here than all those polititroll threads.
Ah well, flagged and moving on....
Well, today was f@~%ing annoying. Tomorrow looks to be about just the same or worse. Same with the rest of the week.
Busy morning, but I'm on a phone conference now, so I get a breather.
Ugh! I did not want to get out of bed this morning. Usually, that kind of blargh is because I'm hung over or sick. Today it was just...meh.
At least the stuff I was worried about here at work seems to be moving along well enough. I actually think we'll get it out on schedule, or maybe slightly ahead of.

Otherwise, have I mentioned lately how glad I am that I moved to Texas when I did? So very glad.

YAWN
What? Oh, sorry. Your feeble New Yorker Summoning skills are no match for the power of the Texas Summer-side!
As I was walking back to my office this morning, I heard one of the designers say something about an Oompa Loompa. I immediately started singing an Oompa Loompa song....loudly.
Now the song is stuck in my head, and will likely be there the rest of the day. So, I will have to share my pain.
Someone brought in Shipley's donuts.
Mmmmmmm......donuts.

He looked down into her blue eyes, and said
"Say a prayer for me". She
Threw her arms around him, whispered
"God will keep us free".
They could hear the riders comin', He said
"This is my last fight...If they
Take me back to Texas, they won't
Take me back a-live.
There were seven Spanish angels, at the
Altar of the sun.
They were prayin' for the lovers, in the
Valley of the gun.
When the battle stopped and the smoke cleared,
There was thunder from the throne,
And seven spanish angels, took a-nother
Angel home.
She reached down and picked the gun up,
That lay smokin in his hand.
She said, "Father please forgive me;
I can't make it without my man."
And she knew the gun was empty,
And she knew she couldn't win,
But her final prayer was answered
When the rifles fired again.
There were seven Spanish angels, at the
Altar of the sun.
They were prayin' for the lovers, in the
Valley of the gun.
When the battle stopped and the smoke cleared,
There was thunder from the throne,
And seven spanish angels, took a-nother
Angel home.

hisses, crawls back under rock
TGIF. Started feeling crappy yesterday. Probably a cold or something. I blame my wife.
But, at least I get out of work early today. And I get the added bonus of helping a friend karma.
2089 missed posts. I really should visit more often.
Holy crap! BT!!! Long time no see! I hope all is going well.
Sometimes I weep for the circle jerkers. What sad, delusional people they can be. And, of course, there's the projection.
But there was Popeyes today. So there's that.
One of my favorite superheroes!
Antman was awesome last night! And, in arriving early at Vintage Park, we had some time to look around and discover a few other places we'd like to try and get to for dinner sometime.
Damn, but there is some stupid shit being passed off as cartoons these days.
Watched that movie Ex Machina last night. It was interesting, but not as interesting as I'd heard people say it was. And the ending was...meh.
In the end, I feel I wasted $6 On Demanding it.
Re-read a classic Batman story last night - Gothic, from Legends of the Dark Knight issues 6-10. I've always been puzzled as to how Grant Morrison could write such an awesome Batman story back in the day, then completely f*!! shit up when the put him on the main title years later.
Friday is the wife's birthday. Most of her gifts are purchased. I still want to get her a second something from the kidlets. I must muse on this.
Saturday, we're going to have guests over to celebrate my wife's birthday. My brother is going to come by with his wife and kids. And the wife's good friend is driving up from Texas City with her husband and daughter. There may be another couple - no confirmation from the wife yet.
