Rassum frassum Stoopid f$&#ing dog. She ate the boy’s scout neckerchief. And he’s supposed to wear it on his trip. The one where he’s leaving TOMORROW MORNING.
So I don’t have the time or inclination to go all the way back out to the scout shop and buy a new one. Luckily, I’ve got a brother not quite 3 miles away who probably had an extra one.

Yesterday was exciting.
In the afternoon, the boy was packing for his trip, and we came to realize he might not be able to fit everything due to the size of his sleeping bag. That was rendered moot by two occurrences: (1) The boy broke one of the compression straps on that brand new backpack, and (2) A talk with the adult leader revealed he had both another sleeping bag the boy could use and more dry bags.
Huzzah?

All of this, of course, is leading to my disrupted sleep. We were up around 2:30 this morning getting the boy over to the adult leader's house so they could depart for the airport. Destination: Minnesota. Then probably Canada. Hopefully they can escape those dystopian, socialist hell holes without too much trouble.

I saw an article about this new game called Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. While descriptions of the game make me think story-wise it's not for me, the article mentions the game's success as something of note. That other companies are acknowledging the games success and looking to give us more turb-based RPGs.
I don't play many games, but I like the thought of more games like that.

The movie I watched was called The Invitation. Kind of a cheesy, girl-boss Dracula movie. The start of the film actually had some good parts, with a slow buildup of terror. Then the Hollywood mentality took over and it went full cheese. It was still mildly entertaining, but would have been more so with some ta ta shots.

I just skimmed through an article declaring the 8 hardest video games of all time. The author’s attempt was adorable. She noticeably left off most games from the 80s and 90s, giving only token acknowledgement with Super Mario Brothers: The Lost Levels from 1986.
Of course, if she had acknowledged more games from earlier, her list probably wouldn’t have had anything after 2000.

F$&#ing project managers. I sent that douchnozzle a Design Basis Memorandum over two weeks ago for review, and he never forwarded it to the client. So I get an email from said client asking where it is.
Decided not to wait for the PM to get into the office and sent it to the client myself. Damned idiot.

On the downside, however, I found out this morning the husband of this old lady from our cub scout days passed away last night. They were the grandparents of a cub scout a year older than my boy (he went into another Scout Troop) and used to do all the cooking for our camping trips.
He was a cool old dude. I know he had been in poor health for years, so I guess this shouldn't be a surprise.
Rest In Peace, though.

Left work yesterday and headed home. Got there just as the rain was starting, then had to go back out and bring some Eagle Rank documentation over to the house of another adult leader. He works down at the council headquarters, so makes a convenient helper for getting paperwork down there. He's a good guy, as well.
Anyway, then I got home again, only to have to go back out. The wife was planning a salad for herself, and I needed to figure out dinner for the girl and myself. So we went back out and about, for a quick run over to Popeyes.
Sometimes, convenience is the enemy of health.

The movie I watched was Troll. It's a Norwegian film, one that I think several people around these parts are familiar with. I liked it.
One of my coworkers and I had watched the trailer for the sequel at work earlier in the day, and both said we'd watch the first one. So there I was, watching the first one.

The drive to the office was pretty decent, except for the part where two cement trucks tried to block everyone in behind them. Douchebags.
The radio had said something about an accident on the interstate, but lucky for me it was south bound, and a bit further south of where I normally get on anyway. Hopefully, no one was injured.
