For now, however, I'll continue to rewatch early seasons of Supernatural. The monster of the week episodes were often pretty good. But, damn! Sam could be an annoying little turd at times.
And I've got to look into possibly finally adding to or modifying the HVAC system of the house. We either need a larger unit (about 5 tons) or perhaps a second small unit (maybe 2 tons). Either one would solve the problem of the upstairs being too warm during the summer. So it would just be a matter of cost and feasibility.
The feasibility being space considerations primarily.
Woot! The grocery store has been visited, and supplies have been purchased! Now we’re back home. Each item has been unloaded and put away in its proper place.
All with enough time that I can eat a bit of second breakfast, then head out to the comic book store.
Aaaahhh!!!!! Go away unlucky number of posts! Not today Satan!
Unless you want to heal my TMJ….
Thank the gods! They did not need me to drive up to Navasota for the canoe practice. There were only three scouts attending, including my boy, so they just road with the adult leading the trip.
That means I can do other stuff around the house. Including, but not necessarily limited to: laundry, dishwashing, some reading, and maybe some woodworking research for my troop sign rebuild project.
New comics - read
Dishes (some) - washed
Laundry - washed and (mostly) dried
Snack - almost completely eaten.
Next up I may do some more dishwashing. And once the last load of laundry is dry, I can put some of it away. The "some" that's mine anyway. I may still get around to putting in some research time on my woodworking project.
The only thing I'm a bit puzzled over now is what to do for dinner tonight. I didn't make any plans this morning, since I wasn't sure if I was going to Tellepsen today. Now that I didn't have to, I need to make some kind of plan.

Maybe. I am a bit hungover. But only a bit. Probably wouldn't be as big of a deal if my TMJ weren't still acting up. That makes even the slightest head pain far worse.
Not to mention, alcohol and the ibuprofen I sometimes have to take for the TMJ do wonders for my stomach.
And by "wonders" I, of course, mean horrific things.
Ed Reppert wrote: Improvise, Adapt, Overcome. :-) I did, indeed. And my plan would have resulted in a bit of leftover I could have made into part of a lunch on Monday. Then the wife got involved....
I may still have enough, but it would be a leaner lunch.
I was hoping to give the dog a bath this morning. Or have the boy do it, anyway. However, we don't have the soap to do so. I may try to get the wife to go over to the pet store and buy some.
Especially since she just convinced me we shouldn't buy the boy his clothes for the High Adventure trip just yet. In case he grows some more between now and mid-July.
Yesterday at the store I bought burgers for the grill tonight. In hindsight, I probably should not have done that. My dentist did say to try and avoid eating stuff like burgers, since you have to open your mouth wide to take a bite.
The boy did well in their canoe practice yesterday. Or so I was told by the adult leader who's running the trip.
And yesterday evening, just for the hell of it, I watched the old John Wayne movie Tall in the Saddle. It's one of the few movies I own digitally, instead of physical media.
Such a great flick, with Wayne, Gabby Hayes, Ward Bond, and several other staples of the time.
"Touch that gun, and I'll kill you!"
"I like grumpy old cusses. Hope to live long enough to be one."
I have, in fact, lived long enough to be one. Or so anyone who truly knows me can attest to.
Ooph! Even with the boy doing most of the work, giving a large dog a bath is definitely a younger man’s game.
And now it’s a waiting game while the dog air drys. I’ll have to help the process along with some towel work, however.
Had a brief discussion with the neighbor about our dogs always trying to get at each other through the fence. We had been trying a work around of whomever had their dog out turning on the back patio light. Sometimes we’d forget, though, so that wasn’t helping.
He suggested trying to get some boards set up at the base of the fence to block them further. I agreed to that. I might also try for some backyard furniture like benches or long, heavy planters I can put along the fence.
Since the boy and I were heading over to Walmart this afternoon anyway, I figure a detour to Lowe’s is a good idea. The two stores are just across an intersection from each other anyway.
The Walmart visit is to pick up a few easy items for his summer trip: flip flops and a new water bottle. I also want to look at what craft wood letters they have.
I don't know. Hopefully, yes. I suspect maybe not. Maybe more middle of the road.
Traffic was not bad, but not good either. There were some idiots on the road. Some slowed me down. Others did not. And I caught a several lights. So, overall, not the best drive to the office.
And my jaw continues to bother me. Perhaps not as bad today as yesterday. Unless I'm just getting used to the discomfort. I did take ibuprofen several times yesterday. And once this morning already. That seems to help some.
And if I take it in small enough doses, with food, it bothers my stomach less.
Still, if this keeps up I may have to go back to the dentist. Or maybe even the specialist I had been seeing when this all started. I'd like to avoid surgery, if at all possible, but something more may need to be done.
My coworker has a check for me. He was in the office on Friday and got it from his friends in Accounts Payable. So now I'll be able to send off my latest PE license application to Arizona. Huzzah!
Or should that be....huzzah?!?
I saw the news about the former president and his cancer. Poor bastard. Cancer sucks.
Hopefully. The drive in was slightly annoying, but also slightly fortuitous at points. And when I got to the office, I discovered the guy who's usually here was not.
So I'm all by myself this morning. For a little while, anyway. I like it that way.

To quote Chiun: "Blessed Silence."
Great movie, by the way. Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins. Sadly, the adventure did not continue.
Except, apparently, for a TV pilot that never went anywhere. I've never seen that, so cannot confirm it actually exists.

Chiun: It would be better for you to eat this can than what is inside of it. Why must everything in this country be coated with monositi-... monosoti...
Remo Williams: Monosodium glutamate. You can't even say it.
Chiun: I can say "rat droppings." That does not mean I want to eat them.
I do not wear glasses so that I may see. I wear glasses so that I may see... more.

Well, that webinar was not as interesting as I thought it would be. No wonder it was free. Still, it makes me wonder if the other "free" ones would be equally as pointless.
Well, "pointless" might be a bit of an off term. Part of the point is I included them as part of a kind of training plan my supervisor wanted me to put together, as a sort of "what to do if we have some downtime between projects" scenario.
So, in that sense, they do have a point. I'll probably give at least one more of the "free" ones a try, just to see if it's the same.
Had to delay my afternoon cup of coffee for a few minutes, since my coffee buddy was in a meeting.
Mmmmm....coffee.
Though I really should cut back some during the week. I'm better at that on the weekends.
