Speaking of both weather and Texas....
Most of the snow is gone from around here. So it's back to business as usual. Hell, as previously noted, several of us were back in the office the day after the "vicious snow storm". There was at least one dude who was super wimpy and didn't even come in Monday, but he's a damned lefty pinko commie, so what would you expect.
So even the snow was too afraid of the awesomeness of Texas to stick around long.

I remember hating Louisiana. The only thing it had going for it, from my perspective, was my family. With modern technology, keeping in touch with them when I wanted to was easy. So I got the hell out of there when I could. Why stick around someplace you hate, just to whine like a child about it?
It was much the same, eventually, with Pennsylvania. Although there were still aspects of living up there I liked. I ultimately left and settled here.
If I ever find enough things to dislike about living in Texas, I'll just get the hell out. I don't see that happening anytime soon though. It's too awesome here.

Anyway, it's looking to be a gloomy day here. Very cloudy. Very opposite of what we had yesterday. Temps should be about the same though. Currently it's hovering just under 40 degF. We're supposed to have a high in the low 60s. At least there isn't supposed to be rain. That's supposed to come tomorrow.

One of the boy's friends is celebrating a birthday this weekend. So the boy is going to go hang with that friend and some others for the day, then spend the night over at the birthday friend's house. He's still going to come help me at the grocery store though. While we're there, I'll help him pick out a gift card for his buddy.

Work yesterday was, as expected, not very busy. Which is fine by me. Next week will be a bit more interesting. I've got at least two days I'll have to take some time off - Thursday and Friday. Thursday I've got a dental appointment (probably a cleaning) and a cardiologist appointment (pretty sure that's the stress test). Friday I've got another cardiologist appointment. Might be one of my Ultrasound tests. Or more than one.

I was lamenting the messiness of our dinner table, and telling the wife the children need to clean their spots. Suddenly, I recalled that somewhere on the table was my letter for vehicle registration renewal. I found it, but then recalled that I still need an emissions test. Not a safety inspection, though. They've apparently done away with that.

Anyway, while searching for the renewal letter, I also found a medical bill I needed to pay. It was for lab work done over at Quest Diagnostics. Thankfully, it's currently looking like I'll never have to use those a-holes again. Their scheduling system sucks and it takes forever to get an appointment.

I think my boy is finally done with his selection of a pathway for high school. Not sure about other Texas schools, but here in Houston they offered something like 57 different paths.
I was kind of hoping he’d follow mom and dad down the engineering route. The high schools here have an awesome program for that. It’s what my nephew did, and he’s studying engineering in college now.
I think the boy settled on something with computers and video development.
