Trying to eat an apple again. We’ll see how it goes…..
Watched The Wolfman with Lon Chaney last night, just for fun. Such a great film, with an underrated lead. Chaney, despite his problems, was a magnificent actor. I particularly enjoyed his performance in Of Mice and Men.
Monday again, but at least I don’t have to go to work.
My daughter’s been watching Avatar: The Last Airbender again. It really is a cleverly written show.
The follow up isn’t too bad, but I thought they did the Big Bad’s out of order. Should have finished the show with her showdown against the evil Avatar.
Gonna be a busy damned day. So, of course, I feel like dog crap.
Still, I felt slightly better after I ate a pack of fruit snacks from the break room. So that strengthens my opinion that being on a certain medicine last year might possibly have messed up my blood sugar stuff.
Of course, that also just means we’re one day closer to next week. Unlike this week, the next will be a “full” work week.
One of my coworkers brought in kolaches for the group. It’d be nice if I could eat them.
Ye gods! There was water falling from the sky! What sorcery is this?!?
Just for s&@$s and giggles, last night I took a break from Diablo 4 to start rewatching Daredevil season 1. You know, back when Marvel TV (and what was the MCU) shows didn’t (mostly) suck big hairy goat balls.
Damn! Monday traffic sure looked an awful lot like Tuesday traffic. Like the whole universe was off.
Weird! Tuesday traffic was more like Monday traffic.
TGIWFHW!
Although, overall my week is slightly less enjoyable. I was reminded yesterday I had been guilted into helping with an event this Saturday.
So that’s going to be my whole weekend thrown into chaos. I’ll have to reshuffle stuff. I hate reshuffling stuff. I’m a creature of habit.
I would say TGIF, but I’ve got a busy day tomorrow and I don’t want it to arrive.
Last night was a bad night to have a bad night. The Universe, however, does not care.
Anyway, it’s been a busy day so far (and it’s going to stay that way). Up at my usual times. Then out the door and at the church by quarter to 8, so that I could help train other adults for the Scouts BSA STEM Program.
Finished up with that about 1030 am, then cut over to the comic book store. Now I’m back home, finishing up lunch (such as it is).
Later, I have to take the boy for his scouts popcorn selling shift (with another tomorrow). And, at some point, I should get to the cleaners (though that’s not a necessity).
Tomorrow will likely be nearly as busy, but hopefully it will follow a “not bad” night.
Thankfully, a “not bad” night is what I got. Still going to be a busy day, though.
Rough weekend, and it looks like it’s going to be followed by a rough week. That’s what I get for not taking it easy enough on my days off. It’s only Monday and I feel like dog crap.
More like dog crap than usual, anyway.
Stoopid mystery health problems.
Ye gods!
Some of my younger coworkers have never seen I’m Gonna Git You Sucka. One of the greatest comedy films ever made!
On the plus side, talking about old movies, along with the approaching Halloween season, reminded me to finally get off my butt and order Kuroneko on Blu-ray. Awesome movie.
Argh, me hearties! Happy International Talk Like a Pirate Day!
The boy was made Grubmaster for this weekend’s troop campout. So sometime between now and Friday his mother or I (probably) have to take him to the grocery store for food shopping.
They’ll be going caving on this campout. And he signed up for the Wild Cave Tour.
It’s Work from Home Wednesday! So, naturally, my internet was all wonky this morning.
And I’ve got about 30 hours to go before I have to return the heart monitor to my cardiologist’s office.
It’s gonna be another busy day. I’ll be here at work until 3 pm. Then I’ve got to stop at home before heading to my cardiologist to give back the heart monitor I’ve worn since Monday. Once I’m back home, I’ve got to help the boy start packing “dry” food for his a scout campout (the need to keep cold stuff will get packed tomorrow), and make sure he packs everything he needs (it’s mainly his responsibility, but I always have to encourage, then check). And get something for dinner.
Happy Friday?!? Hopefully.
The weekend definitely has potential….
Damn!
So, on Monday a bunch of people here at work were “accidentally” terminated by what IT said was an HR software glitch. It was quickly fixed, but a lot of people had a stressful half day or so.
Today, I found out what really happened.
A payroll employees who got fired had left some kind of program in the system that purposefully started terminating other employees. The first time around (the one we were told about) it hit over 180 people. The second time it hit over 600.
Talk about burning bridges.
Theoretically, it will be a somewhat quiet and uneventful day. At least I hope so.
Except it wasn’t all, as our protagonist suddenly realized he makes similarly sad posts much more often these days.
Mystery illness seems to be seeping its way into getting to him.
I’m very disappointed in the boy. He knew this camping trip was his last opportunity before the October Court of Honor to get certain requirements done. He told me multiple times he’d get them done.
And he didn’t.
He made various excuses of course. The sad truth, I think, is that he just doesn’t care about advancement. At this point, I’m debating allowing him to even continue in Scouting.
Sadly, I wasn’t surprised.
He was, however, when I told him no electronics for the rest of the day. That’s his punishment for lying to me about trying to get the requirements done.
I might continue the punishment beyond today. Haven’t decided yet.
To further my disappointment in the boy, last night I received an email from the Scoutmaster with videos of my boy throwing oranges at other scouts. Needless to say, his “no electronics” punishment is extended. And I’m not letting him go to the leadership meeting tomorrow either.
I let him know, in no uncertain terms, it was unacceptable to throw things at people. He could have risked serious injury, even from an orange.
In other news - it’s Monday! I drove through rain on the way to work! Huzzah!!!!
It seems today shall be rather busy.
Just opening my work email and I’ve already got five separate emails flagged for follow-up. Plus another six or seven I’ve at least got to give a second look at.
Almost saw someone get their rear bumper taken off by someone else who preferred to run the red light.
I’ve come to the realization that, some how, I’ve become like the unofficial Herald of Death here at the Paizo message boards. It seems like somewhere in the range of 90% of R. I. P. threads of the past year or so have been started by yours truly.
Honestly, I wasn’t even trying. It just seems to have happened…..
Got a quote yesterday evening for a check valve for this project I’m working - $260,000. Pretty sure that’s more than I paid for my house.
Granted, it’s a BIG valve. How big? Diameter is 42 inches.
Ugh. What a crappy morning.
I don’t want to go to the dentist.
My dentist inadvertently might have tried to murder me. The crown he was putting on accidentally got dropped and nearly went down my throat.
