First, please do not insult me. I am not having a 'hissy fit' and such a statement is quite insulting.

Second, you provided the "Supernatural ability that mimics a spell" statement, not I. IF you want to recant that statement to include all supernatural abilities please state that.

Nothing in your quote states that Supernatural Abilities or EX abilities are spells or use the spells sections of Chapter 9.

Again, I will restate the question that you have now ignored twice:
What is the originating point for an area effect that does NOT mimic a spell and where is that rule found?

The point here is this: There is no such rule. You either have to accept that the rules in the Magic section apply to many more things than "spells, spell-like abilities, and supernatural abilities that mimic spells" or you have to accept that the rules do not cover everything.
Either way, the rules are, in some way, inadequate and it requires going beyond the strict RAW.

Strict RAW: Only spells, spell-like abilities, and supernatural abilities that mimic spells are covered by the majority of the Magic rules. This means that a supernatural ability that does not mimic a spell (Dragon's Breath weapon) or a non-magical effect such as the Poison Sand Tube are not covered by the rules in chapter 9.

RAI: the rules apply to anything that it makes sense to apply them to. Thus, the rules for "Aiming a Spell" apply to anything that is an area effect even if it does not mimic a spell or is non-magical.
Similarly, the rules for conjuration spells apply to anything that is a conjuration effect and that includes magic items that are not reproducing a spell.

Since you have devolved to the level of insults it is no longer meaningful to have a conversation with you.

End of Chapter 9:
"Special Abilities
A number of classes and creatures gain the use of special abilities, many of which function like spells.
...
Extraordinary Abilities: These abilities cannot be disrupted in combat, as spells can, and they generally do not provoke attacks of opportunity. Effects or areas that negate or disrupt magic have no effect on extraordinary abilities. They are not subject to dispelling, and they function normally in an antimagic field. Indeed, extraordinary abilities do not qualify as magical, though they may break the laws of physics.

Natural Abilities: This category includes abilities a creature has because of its physical nature. Natural abilities are those not otherwise designated as extraordinary, supernatural, or spell-like."

Since you cannot be bothered to read the things I post.

Further, while I did not "recant" my statement, I did amend it with an expansion. Go read further back. You keep ignoring me and fixating on a single sentence I made. I'm done talking with you if you're going to keep nerd raging. I'm having an adamant discussion/argument about rules interpretation, and you're fixating on a single point you cannot let go of, that no longer has the relevance you think it does.
