Potions Question - Mount

Advice

Playing a game with a couple of friends we ran into a bit of a disagreement that essentially came down to this: the spell 'mount' as a potion...is that possible? If not we assume it could be an oil but we'd like to know if this specific spell is capable of being formed into a potion? If not, an oil?

Been looking around but most seem to deal with offensive spells. Sorry if we missed this one!

Thanks!

A potion or oil needs to have a 'target', and that target is automatically the imbiber or what the oil is rubbed on.

Also, spells of range 'personal' can not be made into potions either.

The Exchange

" It can duplicate the effect of a spell of up to 3rd level that has a casting time of less than 1 minute and targets one or more creatures or objects."
The spell mount does not effect a target, creatures or objects. It summons a mount, like a summon spell. You cannot have a potion of mount.

According to the Brew Potion feat:

Quote:
You can create a potion of any 3rd-level or lower spell that you know and that targets one or more creatures or objects.

Mount is not a targeted spell, and as such can not be made into a potion.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I knew an old woman who swallowed a horse.
She died, of course.

Agreed. Can't be done. Get a wand and put skill points in Use Magic Device.
