Getting back to Savage Tide after a looooong break, and very happy to be running it again!
My PC's are currently assaulting the Crimson Fleet base, and I'm wondering how other DMs might have handled (or are planning to handle) the absolutely huge amount of wealth offered in this adventure. Do the later adventures scale it back a bit? I can go through and calculate them, but I thought I'd ask first.
It looks to me like, as written, the PC's (5 person party + a cohort) are going to get around 160,000 from the Crimson Fleet base alone.
Thanks!

160,000 total, or each?

I actually think that the loot for SoS is under what you'd expect, it's the last real big haul of loot in the entire campaign, due to all the adventures post SoS being only one level gained, compared to SoS's two (15th to 17th)
I got 6 PCs in my campaign, they're in SoS right now, so I've had to up it a bit.
Wealth by level at 15 is 240k, 17 is 410k, so they should gain 170k each. With 6 PCs, that's just over a million GP total
I've actually got placed over 2 million GP in loot, my group likely are going to get about 60% of it.
My Captain Wyther (and I'm using a variation on Charlie Bells) carries over quarter of a million in gear alone. SoS in my eyes should be a loot haul in comparison to others in the path.

Get your grubby eyes out of here. It has no bearing on ours, and I don't want you comparing it against this eight years from now when we finally get to this point in the AP.
OP, I wouldn't worry about how much wealth they get here in the slightest. The final arc of the campaign can be pretty rough, and a lot of encounters don't have treasure, because they need to be dealt with through other means. A pirate haul is fine.
Unless they poke around future adventure threads. Then give them nothing.

I couldn't dream of comparing his haul with our own. I learned a long time ago that our game has deviated from the norm in pretty much every way imaginable.
On the other hand, given that our last treasure haul was in the 1.5 million* range total, I thought I might be able to offer some perspective on how far 160,000 goes. The truth is that it isn't quite as much as it seems. At 14th level or higher effectively 160k is a +1 or +2 to most key stats or less, unless the characters are woefully unequipped to begin with. It likely also means a shiny new toy (staff, rod, ring, weapon). And that assumes it is a payout in pure cash - which I suspect it is not. After selling items or converting them into other things, replacing consumables, paying for any spellcasting, and so forth 160k is a relatively modest haul.
*Worth noting though, this was also the haul for something like two years of gaming, and does not include offsets for the ~120k or so the party spent in spell components, lost items, and expended consumables.
