I ended up getting placement into Black Fang for myself, but could not get my daughter in because kids can't buddy in the lottery.
In the open events there are no beginner box games and I'd like to request adding 1 or 2. Seems like there is demand.
If not, I'll be trading my Black Fang ticket later. If anyone has any ideas how a trade might help me let me know.
Thanks.

As per this post: http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2r3nk?Buddy-System-For-Families#8 I withheld some seats from the Beginner Box Games for open registration. I've now updated those events with the max number of seats.

Ah, my mistake. I thought those seats were already taken - I did not know they were not released to open signup yet.
I just got her seats in two of them.
Thanks you very much. Totally turned this around for us. :D

I'm also working with Bill Webb from Frog God Games to get two more games targeted at a younger audience on the schedule, I know at least one is Swords and Wizardry.

Sara Marie -- do you have enough beginner box events, or are you going to be looking for more people to run them?
Based on the above post listing open seats plus the two I have coming from Frog God Games, I think the number of games suitable for younger kids is... probably okay? Its really hard to judge as PaizoCon is changing every year with more and more attendees coming to the show. I think, and this could totally be just my own confirmation bias, there's also more gamers who got into gaming as kids/teenagers back in the 70's/80's/90's who are starting to have kids that are now age that they are interested in bringing them to conventions.
I'm happy to add more games for kids if there's a GM that wants to run them, though if its after today, they won't be in the on-site schedule book, just online.

OK. I'll keep my eyes open, and if it looks like there's clamoring for more games come closer to the con, I may drop a PFS game I'm playing and volunteer to run a BB game instead. (I won't drop anything I've already volunteered to do, though!) (Well, unless I get hit by a bus, but then, really, it's the bus doing the dropping, isn't it?)

We will run 2 kids games--I am bringing all 6 of my kids (2 are mine, the rest are only mine a couple days a week). My kids range in age from 9-13. Two of them are very skilled DMs. If there is need, I will run a 3rd kids game myself. Usually these games max at 6 players--its hard to keep more than that truly engaged.
My daughter Jillian will run her Hall of Bones adventure (same as last year). My protégé Cash Hubbard will be running his own adventure called Lands of Brushwood, and I can either improv or grab something from my stash of books (I have about 5,000 rpg products and I picked up a few new things this year at NTRPG con that would work as well).
We are usually willing to run pickup games as well, and I keep my schedule pretty open at these things. We do not play Pathfinder though--its Swords and Wizardry (a retroclone). This is a very simple game to play (pre AD&D) and fast to learn. Free copies are in the Paizo store as pdfs. Its super easy to play, although more difficult to DM.
For those of you who do not know, I am huge advocate of training younger players. I do classes at a school or two every year, and most of the reason we made free rules was to allow kids to get the rules. My games in Dallas two weeks ago were loaded with kids (8 in one game)
If your kids are looking for a game, we can find them one. My 6 can help them learn the rules pretty fast and are usually pretty happy to play 24/7. At lottery events we always send them home with prizes too. All they need are miniatures, dice and pencils. We provide everything else.
If you have really young kids (<10 with no previous experience), I would ask that you stay with them until they get comfortable. I'll seed games with my 6 to ensure they have helpers at each table.
So Sara, you can post up Jillian for 1 game and Cash for one game...me too as long as its after 10 am:) and the other two book up. Limit 6 players please.
Bill
