Your hard work has made the Puhitcha family very rich.

Most of your brothern and sistern are scared and weak. A few of you have shown courage and addressed wishes to escape or rebel, though most of the others wouldn't dare. Lorinda hurries as much as she dares without making too much noise and praying she gets to the meeting on time. She bares signs of recent abuse and her fine silk dress is torn and dirty.
Stealth Roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 Lorinda covers her mouth as she chokes back a whimper of pain and anger.
Well at least they will see what I have endured. They work hard in the field and think I am spoiled inside the lavish keep, they do not know my pain. This will be the last night that scum touches me, plan or not She muses to herself as she fingers the hilt of the dagger she had recently acquired from her drunken master.

Antal is busy preparing yet another dull meal for his boorish masters. He chops the fruit up into manageable pieces with swift, deft strokes and cooks the meat to taste decent enough for most, but refuses to go all out just to make yet another of the same dishes he had been all his life.

Craft(Food/Drink): 1d20 + 11 - 5 ⇒ (19) + 11 - 5 = 25

Not the least pleased with his simple meal, he prepares himself to present it to the master and his guests. Hopefully they are a bit nicer about his failures than his master is.

Still working on crunch. Need to add skills/feats, but will probably do that tomorrow since its late here.

Filli Backstory:

Filli has been a slave to the Puchitcha family for the lions share of her life, so long has it been that she cannot even recall a time beforehand, she vaguely remembers being quite young when she was bought at an auction though none of her family if ever she had one were bought along with her. Raised as a slave Filli for the longest time simply saw little problem with her situation, she simply knew no life other than what she experianced. The masters were often unpleasent but this could be easily rectified by simply being very good at the job she was assigned to and being very apologetic when she did make an error. Filli even came to somewhat enjoy her work making games out of the more menial tasks in order to make them a bit more fun.

The seeds of discontent were sown into Fillis mind when she met her first true friend a stray cat little more than a kitten half starved wandering near the halfling House, Filli managed to get near the kitten and shared with it some of her food quickly earning the kittens friendship in the process. From then on the kitten would pop up at least once a day to visit Filli, when Filli was not working she would play with the Kitten but eventually he would sucrry off at her behest, it was too big a risk to simply have him around all the time for fear that someone might try and take him away. Filli began to find herself for the first time wanting more to her life than what it currently offered, she wanted to be able to play with Pounce whenever she wanted, wanted to explore the world beyond her masters land as Pounce could. Oocsionally Pounce would bring her trinkets from beyond the fields many of these trinkets were dead animals... but oocasionally they would be pretty things that Filli would need to hide.

One day however Pounce arrived a bit too early in the day and was spotted by one of the masters guards, the large man thought it would be amusing to try to shoot Pounce with his bow, Filli in her distress managed to unleash a power hidden deep within herself mystical energy wrapped around the mans head and sent him to sleep not entirely sure how she had accomplished such a feat but knowing she needed to do soemthing Filli set things up to make it appear the man had simply fallen asleep while drinking on duty and sent Pounce away for the day. She finished her chores and by some strange luck everything worked out with the guard simply assuming it had all been an alcohol induced dream.

When others began to talk about escape Filli knew she needed to take a risk, another incident like the last one might get herself and/or Pounce hurt or worse killed, her newfound mystical abilities also placed her in a dangerous position if discovered. Escape was really the only option.

Base Atk +0; CMB +0; CMD 6 (10 vs. trip)
Feats Weapon Finesse, Alertness
Skills Climb +6, Perception +5(+7 with Filli near), Stealth +14; Racial Modifiers +4 Climb, +4 Stealth

SPECIAL ABILITIES
Improved Evasion (Ex): When subjected to an attack that normally allows a Reflex saving throw for half damage, a familiar takes no damage if it makes a successful saving throw and half damage even if the saving throw fails.

Share Spells: The wizard may cast a spell with a target of “You” on his familiar (as a touch spell) instead of on himself. A wizard may cast spells on his familiar even if the spells do not normally affect creatures of the familiar's type (magical beast).

Empathic Link (Su): The master has an empathic link with his familiar to a 1 mile distance. The master can communicate empathically with the familiar, but cannot see through its eyes. Because of the link's limited nature, only general emotions can be shared. The master has the same connection to an item or place that his familiar does.

Deliver Touch Spells (Su): If the master is 3rd level or higher, a familiar can deliver touch spells for him. If the master and the familiar are in contact at the time the master casts a touch spell, he can designate his familiar as the “toucher.” The familiar can then deliver the touch spell just as the master would. As usual, if the master casts another spell before the touch is delivered, the touch spell dissipates.

Pounce Backstory:

Pounce is between the two of them far more 'aware' of the extent of the connection between himself and Filli, he is fiercely loyal to Filli and as such keeps as close an eye on his mistress as he can when not out hunting it is often a point of frustration for him that Filli is always more than willing to share her food with him but practically never partakes in the food he brings her. His coat is a magnificent shade of silver and appears far too well kept for a stray such as himself and an oocasional glow in his eyes shows that Pounce may be far more than just a normal stray.

In reality Pounce is a sort of avatar for a force far larger, it forged the connection between Filli and Pounce and has even strengthened the cat to further its own ends, neither Pounce nor Filli are aware of this however.

The Plan for Filli and Pounce:

So my general concept for Filli is that once we start taking Class levels that she will be a Witch(with Pounce as her familiar of course) and her patron will be the one who forged the connection between Filli and Pounce and also the one who has further enhanced Pounce's abilities, Witch seems to work pretty well with Adept all things considered since its abilities seem to be a sort of mixture of divine and arcane similar to the Witch class.

Bennevy stands ready by the Master's chair, watching for his cue.

Be ready. A drink. His pipe. A clean handkerhief. Get it right the first time, and save yourself a beating, Benny.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

Do the field hands have it this bad? The Master doesn't know they exist. He doesn't have time enough in his day to check on all of them. Gotta get to that meeting tonight Can't afford to be sewing another rent sleeve. This could be my chance...

Liberty's Edge

Dang. I love playing halflings. Since the submissions so far are light on the combat side of things, I'll see what I can come up with for a field hand.

The sun beats down on Vazio, as he stands in the vineyard, sorting the ripe grapes from those not quite ready yet. All of a sudden, a cry of pain breaks the silence.

"Get back to work you lazy cur!!" He sees one of the human overseers beating on a frail old halfling woman, who does her best to cover herself from the man's blows.

As he turns back to his work, Vazio muses to himself: This place is a lot harsher than where I used to be. In the end, I guess they are all more or less the same.

He thinks back to something he overheard this morning, as the fieldhands were being rousted out to start the days work. Apparently, there is a group planning an escape attempt, and they are meeting tonight to work out the details. Yes, I think it's time for me to leave this place. I have more important things to do than pick grapes. Yes, I think escape is a splendid idea.

Note to all. This is still a recruitment thread. Haven't got the party together yet. Will go over more of the NPC characters, living conditions and background with everybody one we get a group established.

Dark Archive

I started with a bit of role playing so you can see my style, once we are in the game thread if you have changed Lorinda's backstory at all I will adjust.

Scarab Sages

Antal is just about finished now, awaiting your approval. The above was to post his link and give an idea of his personality.

So far we have four house servants and a field hand that have applied, though Filli could also be a midwife if she wanted.

still got room? my knowledge on galorian is a tad small, but I know about some halfings... from LotR to forgotten realms ;)

anyway, lets see where I am working.

going from 1-100 roll of 1 is the 1% ect. ect.

DESNA'SFORTUNE: 1d100 ⇒ 42

sweet, henceforth my nickname is "barrel rider" :P

Still working on fluff, but I would like to introduce Calkirn Grayburne (Cal). Cal is a "vineguard" at the Puhitcha Vineyard. His responsibility is the protection of the vines and their delicious grapes from the endless flood of varmit and birds trying to feed on the grapes.

Born the child of escaped Chelaxian halfling slaves, Cal's early childhood was quite pleasant. They lived in a small hamlet in the woods of Druma, south of Macridi. He was 9 when the bounty hunters came. His father died fighting to protect his family. His mother and sister were taken back to Cheliax, while he was sold to other slavers heading to the markets of Galt. Even at 9 his size was evident, and he was quickly acquired by the Puhitcha family. He was assigned every physically demanding task to grow him strong. Used frequently as a cartboy, he showed a talent for catching small game to share with the other slaves for additional food. When the whipmen realized what he had been doing, they beat him severely. Then put him to work protecting the grapes. Since then, Cal has got smarter about sneaking his catches back to the others, and dreams of returning to the life he was raised in - a life of freedom.

You will want to check out the Pathfinder/Golarion wiki's then. Golarion Halflings have some significant departures from either Forgotten Realms or Tolkien.

GM JIM, still interested. The idea is still percolating in my brain. Will have a submission no later than tomorrow.

The Exchange

.

Will have something up in a bit. I love the Golarion halfling.

Sovereign Court

Hi all. Will extend out the deadline to Monday then make my decision.

Interested.
Thinking of playing angel, a house maid. She is a secret adept.

Hey Chill :D looks like you and I are on the same wavelength for character concepts hah!

Is also Runt

Interested, I'll see if I can get a submission together this weekend

He wasn't often at these meetings, although all knew him. The fireplug of a Halfling lacked the weathered skin of the fieldworkers and the sheltered paleness of the house staff. He wasn't adverse to borrowing tools after hours to perform needed repairs to any of his peers hovels. He learned long ago not to utter disparaging words where ears could hear and tongues may wag; that did not prevent him from spreading news as he worked. So it may have shocked a few of the more timid ones when Cooper stood up and growled out, "I am in."

Bump Cooper is assigned to the processing and storage. Always has been, since he was a child who was volunteered to work there to keep him out of reach a particularly vicious field super.

Cooper is an expert, configured for either a fighter or rogue, likely a bit of both. The laws are made by men in power, backed by threats and punishments. He didn't vote for the man; he has seen the violence inherent in the system.

I am working up a solid story for a warrior who works in the barrel works.
Will have it up tonight.

Peter the Stout:

Peter was not always a slave. In fact, he had been one the most free halflings in all of Golarion. Serving aboard one of Andoran's many merchant ships as a porter and in the naval militia. More than one slaver had met with Peter's wrath as they were repelled from boarding every ship upon which he had served....well all but one. In a sad turn of events Peter had taken a berth upon a skiff headed to the Mwangi coast, or so he had been told. Turns out the Mwangi coast is interchangeable with the auction block in Galt. Peter along with many other seaman had been shanghaied and locked away by an unsavory merchant by the name of Lefuer.

"Should have known better when there weren't any freight.", he thought to himself as he found himself purchased for an insultingly low sum. Though not blessed with an abundance of brains, he was so in brawn. Living his life by the motto "If you are not going to be smart, you better be tough.", Peter quickly made a name for himself in the barrel works besting many non-halflings in feats of strength. Knowing his prayers to Kurgess would carry him through most anything, Peter met each day with a smile.

As he worked he knew one day the opportunity would present itself for him to make his escape and seek his vengeance upon Lefuer. So he practiced his craft and remembered his lessons in resistance learned during drills. Always keeping an eye out for like minded individuals he soon saw the opportunity Kurgess had granted and formulated a plan...

Peter is built around the idea of going Barbarian once we have PC levels, though all feats, skills, and traits reflect the above backstory. In any case, here is the crunch. Also, this my new account as I am having problems with one or two bits of my original one. I 5000 post on that one under Bilbo Bang Bang just in case you have any concerns about this being a new account, lol.

Scarab Sages

Decide to drop out in this one, Jib?

Withdrawing. Thank you.

Hi all.

Sorry To announce that I will not be doing this game PBP.

After some research I have found Roll20.net and that ties in more to what I am looking for as far as an online Pathfinder Game.

I do intend to make a campaign/game on Roll20 with the same theme/premise, and will give anyone first dibs if interested. (Time and Dates can/will be arranged around group)

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Aww boo.... well at least we know now. Will the recruitment for your Roll20 game be done on the forums here? I'd like to still get a chance to play as Filli I just need to take a look at Roll20
