My PFS character will reach fighter level 3 soon. (he is 3 rogue/2 brawler fighter right now) He uses two weapon fighting with a shield and longsword.
I like the brawler archetype because it made a great 3 level dip before going to the Pathfinder Devlver prestige class.
Now my +1 Bashing shield is going to be better than my sword.
So is it worth it to switch my sword out for a cestus or some other close group weapon for twf? I really can't see the scizore fitting with this character flavor wise. Style points matter too!
I liked the classic sword n board style, but maybe this level represents his skills growing more in other ways?

Well, the cestus is one of the best weapons in the close weapons group, but it is not your only option if you are more in the mood for style.
A quick look shows one light weapon that is perfect for your transition- the punching dagger.
The punching dagger (or katar) can suit a sword and shield style well, and in fact it was commonly in such a way in India. It would be fairly easy to characterize the switch as a preference for quick, powerful jabs that suit well for a more 'brawling' style. Overall, when it comes to attacking, katars are fairly straight forward and easy to deal powerful blows, and I can see how that could appeal to some people.
You could characterize the switch as a move away from the strict and set teachings of...wherever he learned to fight...to a more wild and personalized style as he experiments with new types of weapons from other cultures.

I was using the longsword in my main hand, light steel shield in the other.
looks like shield is going in the mainhand and punching dagger in the other now.

I can get behind a katar and this reasoning, thanks!
...now if only i planned ahead better and enchanted a heavy shield for more damage :/

Sorry. I just assumed that's what you meant when you said your shield was going to be better.
