Misgiving's haunts (spoilers)

Rise of the Runelords

Liberty's Edge

My group will most likely reach Misgivings today and I could swear that I saw somewhere that once a haunt is triggered it only sticks around for one round before disappearing until the next day. I glanced in the book and can't find that and right now I am stuck doing housework <shudder> so I thought I would see if I could tap the community mind for some help.

For the most part, the haunts are one-and-done effects. They reset automatically after a day, and the only way to permanently prevent that is to lay Vorel's spirit to rest. I think the only one that persists is the Phantom Phage haunt, which specifies that it continues until the person effected makes two consecutive saves, is forcibly dragged from the room, or goes unconscious due to physical or ability damage. Some of them have long-lasting effects - Stricken Family and Ghoulish Uprising have the chance to impart a disease upon the "lucky" recipient, for example.

There's actually a few that will last longer than a round: Dance of Ruin lasts for a d6 rounds, but once it's run its course. Worried Wife can last multiple rounds. Misogynistic Rage lasts a surprise round +1d4 rounds. It varies by haunt.
