24 Hour Charged items?

I bought a Shawl of Lifekeeping. How do I need to handle this or other similar 24 Hour charged items (like Meditation Crystals or otherwise rechargeable items?)

Can I say/assume that I recharge it each night and heal up, so it's ready for each scenario? Or do I need to fill it up and then heal myself back after the scenario starts?

The FAQ says items like staves carry charges, and spell storing items carry charges (if self-cast.) I just wanted to check if there was a general rule, or guidance?

Relatedly, but technically a rules question, can you "refresh" charges like this? Spending more HP to restart the 24 hour clock on the 10 HP that are there? Since there's no way to actively clear charges from the shawl, I'm not sure.

I'm not sure if there is an official ruling, but I have always played that unless an item is stated to carry charges between scenarios then it begins the scenario uncharged. You can of course use any travel time in the intro or during the scenario to charge said items.

Given that there is an undefined amount of time between scenarios, I've always ruled / played this as you walk into the scenario with full spells / HP, and with the items fully charged.

as we can see from the two posts above, YMMV.

You'll need to ask the judge before the game starts and see if it is even an issue... after all, a number of scenarios start with the lead up being "you remember the VC talking about this days ago in the briefing..." meaning you start right in the action, with the days up to it already scripted...
