Shield spell + longbow

Rules Questions

When you have shield cast on yourself can you use two-handed weapons? A longbow? Thanks in advance.

It is a hovering shield of force. It requires no hands.

I don't see why not. The spell calls out that it creates an invisible shield of force that hovers in front of you.

It doesn't require hands to use.
It doesn't have an Armor check penalty.
It doesn't have a spell failure chance.
It negates magic missile attacks.

So in short, other than the name it has very little in common with an actual shield.

Yes, you can have an active Shield spell and use a two-handed weapon.

I do not think you meant it this way, but remember that Shield is a Personal spell so nobody can cast it on you. You have to cast it or activate an item, etc. That would require a free hand during the casting or activating.

A Ring of Force Shield, by the way, cannot be used without a free hand to grasp the shield.

The Shield spell functions exactly as it was intended to.

Floating shield of force, that protects you.

Others have said that you can have a shield spell active while using both hands for something else (two-weapon fighting or two-handed fighting, doesn't matter). But it is important to note what Hendelbolaf wrote.

However, you can deactivate a ring of force shield, make your full attack with a weapon in two hands, then at the end of your turn as a free action let go of your weapon with one hand and activate the shield. Some see it as cheese, but personally, I see it as weak when it is both 500gp more expensive than a +2 Ring of Protection, and makes you stop threatening and can't go above or below +2.
