Trying to figure out some Dalish tattoos. Most of what I can see doesn't appear to be accurate. Each tattoo represents a specific Dalish god, and I'm having trouble categorizing them.
I'm not sure which deity this'd represent. The sheltering trees make me think it might be Mythal, but it might be June, who taught the elves how to work wood:
"We dedicate all our crafts to June, for it is he who taught the People to bend the branches of trees to make our bows, and to fashion coverings of furs and ironbark. Without June, would we have the aravel, or the harnesses for our halla?"
I am completely uncertain as to what this one is. Some have suggested it's Elgar'nan, given the black/white dichotomy and scorched earth in his legend, but I'm not sure. I can't think of another deity it'd represent. Maybe Falon'din, representing life and death?
I'm uncertain, but I'm guessing that this symbol either represents Elgar'nan, given the shape of the carved head here.
However it might be Falon'din, as it also resembles his statue here.
Pretty obvious this is Andruil. As goddess of the hunt, you can't be represented better than by the bow and arrow.
I'm guessing this is Sylaise, the Hearthkeeper. She gave the elves fire, and a flame is the central feature of this tattoo.
It's been suggested that this is Dirthamen, keeper of secrets, and that the curling lines are reminiscent of a book's pages, etc. I'm not sure.
I'm guessing this one represents Ghil'nain, the goddess of the halla, as these appear to be like halla horns.
I'll come right out and say I have no freakin' clue which deity this is supposed to represent. I was wondering if it might be June, but I'm not sure how closely it resembles the carved head image here.
So...I'm stuck for figuring this out. Any comments, or ideas as to which is which? As I said, some appear to be obvious, but others don't seem very clear as to what concept or deity they're supposed to symbolize. I'd like to pick the one for Mythal, but I'm not sure which one represents her.
Just a quick shout out as I love Dragon age and I hope you're able to figure out whos who soon.
I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark and say Keeper Merethari's might be Mythal's, based on her own character if nothing else (protect The People above all else).
I will also say that it is only through this thread I actually found out she was in both games. She looks waaaaaay different in DA2.
