Druid & Animal companion optimisation

Advice

Hi guys. I am pretty new to this game and i would want to ask you a few things. Which feats should I take (core rulebook only) as a wildshaping druid?
Which feats should my tiger AC take?

Hi Trisagon, I'm going to flag this to be moved to the "Advice" forum, that's the spot here on the boards you're really looking for.

In addition to any answers your question gets there, at the top of the Advice forums posts is a sticky post titled "Guide to the Class Guides". The first post in that thread will link you to guides for most classes in the game. Either of the Druid guides should have some answers to help you.

Best of luck.

(Ps- Personally I'm a fan of Planar Wild Shape as feats go. Gaining DR is always nice. Power Attack is also an almost essential feat.)

Get.armor proficiency for your tiger first thing. Wearing armor really helps them out.

For you I would go

F1 toughness or dodge
F3 power attack
F5 natural spell

Armor proficiency is not necessary for Animal Companions. The penalty for not being proficient with the armor or barding you are using is a penalty to Attack rolls, Dex and Str skill checks. If you have an armor or barding with an armor check penalty of 0, you can use it with no drawbacks despite being nonproficient.

Leather armor, Masterwork Studded Leather and Mithral Chain Shirts all have armor check penalties of 0. Use them and enjoy.

For any Animal Companion you're initially limited in feat choice. When you get to level 4 you can choose to increase Intelligence to 3. This allows you to choose any Feat the AC meets the prerequisites for, and allows you to put skillpoints into linguistics to understand (but not speak) 1 language per rank (You still need to use handle animal though).

For Feat Choice: Improved Natural attack is fantastic once your AC gets BAB +4, and Power Attack becomes valuable once you hit level 7 for the +8 Str boost. Iron Will and Toughness can both help with the poor will saves and low HP of most animal companions. Once you get the Int boost at level 4 you can branch out and choose just about anything.
